Elegant Ever After

Hi everyone! June is almost here and it's the time of year for brides and grooms to unite so I thought that I would start stocking up on wedding cards :) For this one, I used the JustRite Quiet Moments set from Stamper's Dream to create the sentiment in the middle of my engineered dies motif.

To create both the center piece and the gorgeous Fleur de Lis cut outs, I used the Fleur de Lis Doily Accents Shapabilities and cut apart some of them to make the circle creation. For the corner pieces and the border, I die cut some vellum and then ran it through my xyron to make it sticky so that I could add some transparent glitter. Now I have to admit that this was a bit tricky and got a little sketchy at times with me wearing more of the glitter than the vellum but I think that it was worth the effort because the end result is so soft and rich in real life (it was hard to get the sparkle in the picture).

To finish off the card I added some stitching and a handmade flower with a stick pin to some beautiful silk ribbon. I then added some wee little pearls and this card was finished off and ready to attach to a bridal present :)

Thanks for coming by today and I hope to see you around here again soon :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: JustRite Quiet Moments and from Stamper's Dream

Simple Gift Idea

Hi everyone! I was cleaning my craft room the other day in search of my mojo and instead of finding said mojo, I came across a box of alterable items :) I found these magnetic bookmarks that I purchased from Michaels many moons ago and decided that it was going to be perfect for a quick and simple gift idea - or something that you could tuck in with a card :D

This is what the magnet started out looking like and all it took was a strip of designer paper and some double sided adhesive to start the transformation.

And here is the finished product using the "Relax & Enjoy" sentiment from the JustRite Charmed Cling Mounted set. I stamped it on some ivory paper and heat embossed it to add a little elegance. I then sponged around the sentiment and then added it to my altered die cut.

Since I wanted to have a nice presentation of the bookmark, I created a little base for it and then added the to/from sentiment from the JustRite Fancy Nested Frames set. This not only looks nice, but it can be added to a present like a gift tag or tucked in with a card as a nice little surprise.

This would make a great addition to go with a purchased book as a gift or to go alongside of a gift card to your favourite book store :D Thanks for coming by today and we will see you all soon :D

Dancing in the Rain with Stamper's Dream

Hi everyone and welcome to my much neglected blog ;) It really goes hand in hand with my much neglected craft room and stamps! I just realized that it's been over two weeks since I posted and card and 2 weeks exactly since I even looked in my craft room. My mojo left the building sometime ago and has yet to resurface so I thought that I would make a small attempt to create something pretty even if my mojo is playing hooky :)

This card although relatively simple actually took me two days to create. I started it and then drew a blank half way through and couldn't figure out how to finish it...so I put it down and walked away over night. I finally finished it off and took a really nice picture of it but Blogger has been doing some interesting things with my photos today so I apologize for the funky/fuzzy picture :(

This card is done by just sewing the layers of card stock, patterned paper and vellum together and then taking my JustRite My Rainbow and Elegant Frames sets and heat embossing them in white on the vellum. This provides a simple but elegant look and in the end it's really one of those cards that looks pretty but didn't take too long to make...unless your me without said mojo ;)

Thanks for coming by today and I will have another card for you in the next day or two :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: JustRite My Rainbow Oval Centers and Borders and JustRite Elegant Frames from Stamper's Dream

Blog Hopping JustRite Style with Stamper's Dream and the JustRite Team!

Hi everyone! Welcome to the start of a new week and a Stamper's Dream/ JustRite Stampers blog hop! You heard me right, both Stamper's Dream and JustRite Stampers have teamed up and brought you this phenomenal hop of inspiration! If you have arrived here from Eva's Blog then you are in the right place, if not then please start your journey back at the JustRite Inspiration blog.

For my card today, I scouted blog land for a sketch to use on the hop. I went with this week's Card Patterns sketch and stamped the sentiment from the Song in My Heart Oval JustRite set in the corner before I started to sponge on my colours. I then sponged on my various Stampin' Up! inks and then used my Martha Stewart leaf punch to make a reverse mask to create the sponged leaves. I finished off the main image with some of Martha's butterfly punches to create the butterflies out of vellum.

Since I'm the last person that you get to visit I will remind you to leave everyone some love to win a chance at some blog candy! There are 3 different sets of hidden goodies among the participants and just to get you salivating, this is just one of the prizes involved ;)

The commenting will remain open until 8pm CST - Tuesday March 22cnd. The 3 winners will be announced on both the Stamper's Dream blog and the JustRite blog on Wednesday March 23rd. Here is what you have a chance to win:

  • 4 JustRite Stamp sets of your choice
  • A $50 Prize package from Stamper's Dream (pictured above)
  • A $50 Shopping spree to the JustRite store.

Good luck to you all and thank you so much for coming to visit me :D

Oh Hoppy Day!

Isn't this little guy from Penny Black just adorable? Michelle from Stamper's Dream sent me this Penny Black stamp at the beginning of the month and it's called Hoppy Day. This stamp is quite large so I spent the better portion of the afternoon on Sunday colouring him up with my tombows and the occasional SU re-inker thrown into the pile just for fun ;)

I wanted to keep a white embossed edge to my image but didn't have any dies large enough to accommodate my entire image, so I took some painters tape and masked off the edges. I water coloured and sponged around the tape before removing it and then noticed that my edges were crooked but shhhhh....don't tell anyone that I told you so ;0) I did try to square it up a bit but now my image is no longer a traditional rectangle shape so don't look too closely n'kay?

Thanks for coming by today and I will have oodles of fun cards to show you next week so stay tuned!

Stamps: Penny Black Hoppy Day from Stamper's Dream

Love Tips the Scales

Hi everyone! It's Thursday today and that means that I have a Stamper's Dream card to show you with one of the fabulous new stamps from Impression Obsession :) This fun and large stamp is called Love Scale and you can see the size of it against my 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base. Yes folks, it's a biggun ;0)

I started out by stamping the Love Scale stamp with versafine onyx black ink on Canson 90lb cold press paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then water coloured the green background with some SU re-inkers. The rest was water coloured with my tombow markers and a water brush and then I added some sakura stardust gelly roll pen highlights to the scale itself because I figure that everyone needs a little sparkle in their day ;)

Thanks for coming by today and I hope to see you soon! This whole working deal and my father in law being sick has taken a lot of time away from my craft room and consequently depriving my lovely readers of some paper crafting eye candy! Ta, ta for now :D

Stamps: Impression Obsession Love Scale from Stamper's Dream
Paper: Gina K, Water Colour, Black, We Are Memory Keepers DP, My Mind's Eye DP

Sweet Things

Hi everyone! I got some new stamps in the mail yesterday from Stamper's Dream and had a bit of time to get inky so I get to bring you this fun card using some Impression Obsession stamps :D I used the Palm Cupcake and Sweet Things stamp to participate in this week's Mojo Sketch Challenge Mojo180.

The Palm Cupcake was water coloured with tombow markers and a water brush and then cut out and popped up on my basic grey designer paper background. I added some pearls to look like the sprinkles on the stamp itself and because it's kind of an ocean themed stamps and you know...pearls come from the ocean and all ;)

Instead of ribbon in the sketch, I used some tropical-like twine and added a coordinating teal abalone shell button and the papers for the card were picked from the image itself after I coloured it in.

Thanks for coming by today and enjoy your evening of Grey's...I know that I will be :D

Blog Hopping with Stamper's Dream

Welcome to this month's edition of the Stamper's Dream blog hop! If you have arrived here from sweet Miss Cindy's blog then you are in the right place, if not, please hop, skip and jump back to Michelle's blog to start your journey with us :)

Today I have two sweet little creations to show you and the first one is the card above. I must say that I adore this JustRite Stampers Birdhouses and Centers set so I have had a lot of fun playing with it! I paired up this stamp with some of this really pretty K&Co paper and die cut the leaves and hand made the ribbon flower to mimic some of the flowers in the stamp itself. The main image was water coloured with tombow markers and if you look really close then you will see that the flower centers have some rhinestone gems in them :)

The second project that I have to share is this cute little birdhouse that I made to coordinate with the card. This is a template that I printed from Nichole Heady's blog and fancied up with the JustRite Stampers You Inspire Me set. I added one of the filigree circles around the opening of the treat box and then embellished it with more rhinestones. I have added some Martha Stewart leaf punchies and some MFT rolled flower die cuts to add a little whimsy to this little goodie box.

Thanks so much for swinging by these parts today and now you are off to visit one of the newest members of the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen Team, Miss Theresa! Have fun and don't forget to leave a little lovin' on your travels :D

Mojo179 Thank You

Hi everyone! I finally got a chance to participate in this week's Mojo179 sketch challenge and the layout was just perfect for the set that I had in mind. For the circle around the medallion, I used my You Inspire Me set from Stamper's Dream and also used the coordinating sentiment to balance out the medallion.

I managed to finally break open some old Stampin' Up! hardware that I think that I have had for the last year or so to add some interest to the center panel. I finished off the card with some rhinestone gems and embossed most of my designer papers for added texture.

Thanks for coming by today and don't forget to scroll down the screen to the next post for my TSG sneak peek :D

Rustic Pine Birdhouse

Good morning everyone! Did you get a chance to wake up to birds singing this morning? Me either....must have been a dream! I can tell you though, that I cannot wait to be able to lay in bed and listen to the little harmonies that come from our little birds that hang out under our bedroom window :D

Recently Michelle from Stamper's Dream mailed me the JustRite Birdhouses, Borders and Centers Set  so I sat down to play with it last night and came up with this creation for this month's Sketch For You To Try Challenge over at Jen's Iheart2stamp blog.

This set allowed me to pull out some rustic elements like my last wooden button, some unloved raffia and some lovely earthy colours to pull together something with a lot of charm. All of theses things remind me of one of my favourite places to go - my parents vacation property on Quadra Island. We go camping there and it's so woodsy, with loads of moss and the colour green. Some parts of it come complete with charming little bird houses hanging from nondescript areas as well as some lurking gnomes hidden in the underbrush ;)

Thanks for popping by today to reminisce with me over a sweet little birdhouse and the memories that it brings :D

Get Well Quilt

Did you all happen to see this week's tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers on Quilt Cards by Jenna Barber? If not then you seriously have to check it out! Long before I started paper crafting, I was a quilter. I got into paper crafting for the instant gratification of my projects, so this kind of card is right up my alley! I seriously squealed when I saw it. I mean, who woulda thunk it? :D

As I was creating my "star of the west" paper quilt block I was thinking of sentiments to add to my card. The "Get well soon" sentiment is from the JustRite Fancy Tags Cling set from Stamper's Dream and worked out perfectly for the card. I know that when I'm feeling sick, I'm usually in bed curled up with a quilt so, I just knew that these two had to be paired together.

Because of the genius idea of the Quilt Card, I can see a set of these babies in the future for me! This is the ideal backdrop for a home spun look and a warm and fuzzy card to feature sentiments of all kinds. Hmmm, the wheels are spinning in my head....

Thank you so much Jenna, for the fabby tutorial! You can bet to be seeing some more of these on my blog :D

Distressed Daffodils

Hi everyone! As you are reading this I am off to a crop in Washington State with a few of my TSG peeps but I wanted to leave something for you to look at so here it is :) I know that a lot of you are buried deep in the "Snowmagedon" that has hit the eastern part of the States so I thought that I could brighten your day with a little daffodil sunshine :)

I pulled out The Greatest Joy JustRite set from Stamper's Dream and used the daffodils on my distressed card. Not too long ago, I picked up some of this sweet crate paper and was dying to use it and the daffodil fit right in with the bright yellow paper. They were water coloured with tombow markers and a water brush and then shaded with a chalk pencil.

To created the distressed designer papers, I sponged them with some Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink, ran them through my cuttlebug with various folders and then used a distressing tool to rough up the edges before sewing them to the espresso card stock. If you look closely then you will notice that I did a very poor take of a blanket stitch down one side of the panels too ;) To finish off the card, I dusted off on of my many tins of SU Hodgepodge Hardware in copper to add the photo anchors and ribbon slider to the orange ribbon.

Thanks for coming by and I will see you tomorrow with my Bellarific Friday post :D

The Greatest Joy

Happy Thursday! You know why it's happy - because it's one day closer to Friday ;) Today I have a simple but elegant card to show you using the roses from The Greatest Joy set by JustRite Stampers that are available from Stamper's Dream.

I started out with a great layout in mind but as usual, my card kind of morphed into something else. After I water coloured my roses and cut them out, I was trying to arrange them on the card as per the sketch that I had drawn up for it. It just didn't look right to me and the more things that I tried to add to the card, the more that it took away from the beautiful roses.

So, after much cutting of papers and various embellishments pulled from their storage places, I decided to leave the card looking like this. It's simple enough to be a "thinking of you" note card or elegant enough to be a wedding card because the pearls add just a touch of class :) I love when plans go awry and you still come out with something beautiful :D

Thanks for coming by today!

Valentine Box

Hi everyone! If any of you have popped by to see my There She Goes sneak peeks then please keep scrolling down the screen.

The other day I was playing around with some of my spellbinders dies and came up with a rough draft of this little heart hanging box with some scrap paper. Once I got the basic idea, I decided to put it to the test using some older K&Co designer paper and some of my JustRite products from Stamper's Dream. I figured this box would be a sweet surprise for someone to find hanging on their door knob...maybe from a secret admirer? :)

If you look closely at the box itself, you might notice that I used one of the JustRite custom dies from the Nested Sentiment Dies set and then the sentiment is from the Happy Everything Die and Stamp combo. Because this box is using the standard size of Spellbinders heart dies, it's fairly small and doesn't leave a lot of room for decorations. If you also look closely you will notice that it has nothing in it ;) I haven't decided who I'm giving it too yet or what kind of goodies it will get filled with so you can let your imaginations soar and conjure up something to picture it with ;D

Thanks for coming by today!

Box Recipe:

Make a Wish

Today I made a gender neutral A2 sized card with the cutie of a bear from the Make A Wish set by Penny Black that is available from Stamper's Dream. The card was made to fit the CP98 sketch from this week's Card Patterns blog challenge. I don't generally leave a lot of blank space on a card but I love how the busy pattern on the designer paper disguises the empty space :)

This roley poley little bear was water coloured with tombows and is sitting on a bed of grass made from prisma pencils and gamsol with a little bit of sponging thrown in for good measure. He has been popped up on dimensionals and the daisies were coated in white gel pen since I got a little crazy with my colouring outside the lines ;) White gel pens can kinda of be a life saver when you are working with low lighting and little sleep :D

Thanks for coming by today and I will be back on Friday with another creation for you to see :)

Celebrating Your Love

Welcome back for the final day of JustRite Stampers week at Stamper's Dream. We hope that you have enjoyed the last couple of days of posts through the Dream Team's blogs and there are some lovely creations today too :)

For this shabby chic style wedding card, I used the JustRite Nested Sentiment Custom Dies by Spellbinders and paired it with the curvy rectangles to create a new shape. I then used one of the many sentiments from the Wedding Nested Sentiments set as the focal image for the card. I added some lovely pearls to make the card girly and have a vellum die cut scallop heart hidden behind my hand made crochet lace flower. All the papers on this card are from the Prima Marketing Annalee line and were just the right muted shades for the soft look that I was going for :)

Thanks for coming by today and don't forget to pop by and see what Michelle, Christina, Amy, Lea and Tosh have in store for you :)

Just Rite Week at Stampers Dream

Hi everyone! Welcome to day 2 of the Just Rite blog hop. Today I get to showcase the Just Rite Quiet Moments cling set from Stampers Dream. This was my first time using a cling set from Just Rite and I have to say that I love it! They have such a thick layer of cushy cling foam on it that it makes them a dream to stamp with :D

I water coloured the girls with tombow markers and a water brush and then cut them out with a craft knife being very careful not to lop off one of the flowers (it almost happened) ;0) I then took my Spellbinders circle die cut and sponged in a whimsical sunset for the girls to rest against. I wanted to keep the pinks and purples in the sky to go with the Annalee designer papers that I had already picked out for the card :)

When I went to put my card together, the image took up a large portion on the space so I kept the layout fairly simple to try not to distract from the little girls. I then made a flower out or some scraps of card stock using a variety of Punch Bunch flower punches to rest in the corner of the image and the photo anchors with brads were to balance out the card. As a finishing touch I added some simple crochet lace and some Kaiser Craft pearls to make the card extra feminine :)

Thank for stopping by and Just Rite Week will be going on until Thursday, so here is a schedule of the Dream Team until then :)

Pieces of Quiet

I thought that this card was fitting for today's post as it's my children's first day back at school after the Christmas break! Ahhhhh....piece and quiet :) We had a wonderful holiday season despite almost my entire family being down with the flu and when we started to feel better...my son smashed his mouth into the handlebars on his bike and now has 4 very loose and crooked top teeth :( After all of that, you could say that I have had more excitement than I can handle over the last 2 weeks! lol

Ok, enough about me and back to this little cutie! When Michelle sent me this stamp I was thrilled because it reminds me so much of my own little man and this is something that Taiton would so do - he's such a little people pleaser :D These stamps are Penny Black called Pieces of Quiet and are available from Stampers Dream. I coloured him up with my tombow markers and a water brush and then popped him up on some dimensionals to be...well, dimensional ;)

I finally broke open my Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride paper pack after having it forever and put a ton of the patterns to use here :)  I personally think that greys and oranges look great on this little guy ;)

Thanks for coming by and I hope that you are all enjoying a few little pieces of quiet in your lives today :D
