Butterfly Sympathy and Announcement

Have you noticed along my sidebar a new little tag under Design Teams? If not, I am proud to announce that I am one of the newest members of the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen Design Team!!!! This month's Dirty Dozen Gallery was released to the Fan Club members on March 15th and I just haven't had a chance to blog about all of the excitement until now. I've been busy with my sick kids and catching up on some housework that I had um, forgotten to do...yeah, that's it...forgotten. Not to be confused with "avoided" *grin*

Since I have finally been able to share my little secret that I have been guarding for what seems like a lifetime, I get to share with you a little something else. Remember way back when in the summer when I was the Featured Stamper on SCS? Well Cindy Motherway (Mothermark) had created this fabulous card for the challenge and mailed it to me with this note on the inside.




I have to say that I was so touched that Cindy put this in my card and that she thought that I was even talented enough to be a Dirty Girl! I have saved this note and proudly put in on display right next to her awesome card so that I could see it every day and hopefully reach that goal! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world because not only to I get to be a Dirty Girl, I also get to be on the team at the same time as Cindy (who wasn't Dirty Dozen at the time the note was written) :) Thanks for the inspiration and sweet, sweet words Cindy!

So after all that, I'll bet you're wondering where the butterfly sympathy card comes in? A few weeks ago I needed a sympathy card for my best friends parents. I decided to use my Beautiful Butterflies set from CDStamps because there is something soothing and peaceful about watching butterflies. I actually don't own any sympathy sentiments so I found this sentiment on the Internet and printed it onto the cardstock.



I love TheresaCC's gallery and used this card for inspiration. It had the perfect layout for what I was looking for and I adore the colours that she chose :) I didn't have a larger leaf stamp so I use the negative paper from the Sizzix Leaf Die to create a stencil for reverse masking using a sponge.



Well, I should probably end this post now as I have a dozing child leaning against my arm and it is getting considerably harder to type! *wink*

I hit the Motherload!

I was thrilled when I opened up my mailbox this week and discovered some Random Act of Kindness (RAK) cards waiting for me there! I received 2 birthday RAK's and 2 tribute RAK's that some kind people sent me from when they participated in the Featured Stamper Challenge #79 (FS79) Lookie what I got!!!

This beautiful, heavily layered card came from my fellow ODBD DT member Nancy Morgan! How sweet it is all decorated up with Bella Rose DP, fancy folds and sparkles :)

This yummy cupcake tiered card came from Cindy Lawrence (One Happy Stamper) who was recently initiated into the dirt pile! It comes complete with a very clever upside down SU flourish to make the cake platter, hand dyed taffeta ribbon and faux stitching :)

This cheeky little changito came bearing gifts! He arrived in my mail box with some Studio G stamps and some pre-stamped images to play with! This card was inspired by my card from the FS79 Challenge - Thank you so much Gwen (tturtle)!

I hit the motherload with a genuine Mothermark creation! I deem this card the "mother" of all cards because it was not only made by THE Cindy Mothermark, but also because this card is HUGE!!!! It is a 6x6 square card before the handle of the guitar protrudes out! This card comes complete with sheer genius, wire for strings, and many, many little details and layers! Cindy played along with the FS79 and was inspired by this card of mine :) Cindy also wrote some very encouraging words for me on a little note inside and it was a very sweet treat to read - I'm keeping my fingers crossed Cindy!!!

Thank you everyone for thinking of me and taking the time to mail me one of your fabulous creations - they are currently on display in my craft studio - away from some roaming little fingers so that my cards done mysteriously go missing!
