Think Pink with Our Daily Bread Designs

When Our Daily Bread Designs released the set called Hope, I was very thankful. This set can be used for many different causes, but I chose to stick with the "Think Pink" theme. Breast cancer has unfortunately affected our family for years.

Shortly after Bill and I got engaged, my mother in law found a lump in breast. 10 long months later, she finished the last of her radiation treatments one week before our wedding - we were so thankful to have her there for our big day! Linda was back to work in no time and feeling like she was in remission and on top of the world until our son was a year old.

She started going for more tests and had found that the cancer had silently crept into her bones. Through this, Linda tried to keep working, looking after her dogs and the family all while refusing to be a victim (she could be a little stubborn :)

After being diagnosed with terminal cancer Linda made the most that she could with the little time that she had and helped us to welcome our daughter into the world and celebrate her first birthday, Christmas and Easter before passing away in her sleep. My children were young at the time and will only remember her by a few memories and the abundance of shared stories and family photos. May 15th, 2008 marked the one year anniversary of Linda's passing.

When I got the Hope set into my hands, the first thing I thought about creating was something that I would see daily - every time I see a pink ribbon, I can't help but think of Linda. I made a desk note pad because I forever have sticky notes stuck all over the house and also made a coordinating journal with the papers that Kelley sent me to keep by my computer. I am always in need of scraps of paper and this way I will have organization and memories all in the same place :)

This set is a wonderfully versatile as you can change the colour of the ribbon for many different causes and the scriptures still match. The scriptures are incredibly inspirational and comforting, perfect for positive thinking!

Kelley has put together a "Hope" package that is free when you purchase the Hope stamp set (package is a $10 value and while quantities last) Here are the goodies that you will receive with your purchase :)

CDS Sneak Peeks and Pink Lemonade Tote Challenge IC139

Since you all just love Charlie as much as I do, I thought I would share what a romantic guy he can be! LOL

This is one of the new August releases from Clear Dollar Stamps and it's called Charlie gets Giddy. I wanted to make this an extra romantic, yet fun card so I immediately pulled out some of my new Stampin' Up! in colours in the Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red, along with some Bella Rose Designer Paper. I love how Charlie Stands out among these colours and how they just suit him and his roses so well :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Charlie gets Giddy
Paper: Papertrey White, Bella Rose DP, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Watercolour
Ink: SU Markers, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Versa Mark
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Hodgepodge Hardware, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Circle Punch, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Designer Label Punch, Dew Drops

This is my very first Bind It All project! I think that it turned out pretty well and it can be used as a sketch journal or a mini scrapbook. I used the CDS August release Leaf Impressions to make this 4x6 book and it is the perfect size for a scrapbook for your purse :) **Clear Dollar Stamps is now carrying Bind it All machines and accessories **

Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Leaf Impressions
Paper: My Mind's Eye DP, K&Co DP, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Old Olive, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Bind It All, Chipboard, Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Sizzix dies, Brads, Dimensionals, Ribbon

I decided to participate in this weeks SCS Inspiration Challenge because these totes are just so darn cute! This is for IC139 and you can find the details to participate here. This is the tote that I took my inspiration from. I was just going to make a little card using these beautiful colours, but then I got a little carried away and went with a gift card holder with the purse being the main presentation. The main measurement of the purse is 5 1/2" so that it will fit in a 5 1/2" Square envelope for mailing :)

The gift card pouch fits in the sewn together tote and the uses magnets to hold everything together (the flap on the gift card pouch acts as a pull tab to take it out of the tote easily).

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Artful INKables - Sunburst Dandy's and Basic Salutations
Paper: Papertrey White, Basic Grey DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Small and Large Oval Punches, Sponges, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Button, Satin Ribbon, Magnetic Clasps.

Artful INKables Coaster Note Book and Beaded Pen

Since I got my Bind it All from Clear Dollar Stamps, I'm hooked! It's just too easy to make such cute little books! Last night I put together this darling little note book including 3 page dividers and labels using one of Artful INKable's new releases called Pressed Petals. When I was out of town shopping with my friend the other day, I managed to find all kinds of new goodies to play with, including these 2 coasters from a Red Robin Restaurant! LOL I thought that I could make this cute little book out of them so I brought them home :)

I ended up watercolouring the blossoms using 3 of the upcoming SU in-colours and then embossing over the images with clear embossing powder. I the highlighted some of the areas around the stem and then sponged the kiwi over the entire image and then wiped the blossoms clean with a rag.

The coasters were covered with the new Bella Rose DP from Stampin' Up!s Fall and Winter catalogue. I assembled the coasters and covered the Old Olive with a later of Stickles. After letting that dry, bound the book and made my matching pen.

Recipe:

Stamps: Artful INKables - Pressed Petals
Paper: Watercolour, Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Bella Rose DP
Ink: Kiwi, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Versa Mark, Old Olive
Accessories: Chipboard Coasters, Bind it All, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Waterbrush, Sponges, Dimensionals, Corner Rounder Punch, Sookwang Adheasive, Embossing Powder, Felt Embellishment, Label Punch, RSVP Pen, Ribbon, Micro Beads, Stickles
