Aren't these cherries so sweet? I have conveted this set from My Favorite Things for sometime and finally got around to ordering it a month or two ago and this is the first time that this set has seen ink! It seems that when ever I order some new goodies, I don't have time to play with them when I actually do get them! I think I'm going have to assume the title of stamp collecter soon ;) lol

This little note card was made for the SC269 sketch on Feb 23rd and I totally forgot to post it to my blog. I used some of my new October Afternoon papers on it and combined them with some K&Co scraps of blue paisley paper. Then cherries have been water coloured with my tombow markers and then added some crystal effects for some glossy fruit perfection ;)

Mini Wine Glass Tutorial and Blog Candy Winner!

Ok ladies, you all asked to know how I made these wine glasses look so real, so I'm gonna show you! First things, first....here is your list of supplies:

• Scissors
• Clear Embossing Powder
• Black Ink
• Water Brush
• Heat Tool
• Tweezers (optional)
• Versa Marker
• Pop Dots
• Black Marker
• Tombow Markers (912, 847, 757, 879, 312, N79)
• Stamp of any glass/drink image
• Water Colour Paper

Please note that before we get started I have listed the colouring tools that I used but this technique can be done with Copics, or Prismas and OMS as well ;) In the interest of not taking a gazillion pictures, I have started this tutorial using already coloured images :) Please also note that you can click on any of the pictures to see them enlarged.




1. Ink up your stamp with black in and stamp the image on your paper. Immediately pour clear embossing powder over top, shake off the excess powder and then heat set. You will need 2 stamped images of your drink.




2. Colour both of your images in with whichever medium you prefer. I have used Tombow Markers and a water brush to water colour my image. You will notice that I only coloured the areas that I will be using as the rest will be cut off.




3. Cut out your images as close to the embossing powder as you can get. The embossing powder should act like a speed bump for your scissors to help prevent you from accidentally lopping off any pieces of the image.



4. You should have one full image cut out and a partial image cut from the second wine glass.




5. Take a black marker and trace around the very edges of your cut out images to hide all of the white edges. This just makes the image look a little more clean and will help to cover up any boo boos.




6. Take your versa marker and colour over top of any red. This is to protect your colours from accidentally bleeding together when you add your crystal lacquer. I always do this as water coloured images can bleed easily when you add liquid to the top of it. Add a thick layer of crystal lacquer on top of both pieces of your images. It will appear cloudy when you apply it but will dry to a clear glossy sheen. Please allow for plenty of drying time!




7. Now it's time to add your pop dots to make your image 3 dimensional. This will help make the glass more realistic and will add dimension to your card.

My card for this hop is eerily similar to the one I made for the SSD01 sketch (I know). But it's not my fault I can assure you! SSD04 - Hang in there!

Tis another week of the Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesdays and tis also the season for giving :) Yes Virgina, there will be blog candy ;) I'm just going to hold you in suspense until I get to through the nitty gritty *giggle*



This week for SSD Tuesday we are working with a square card for SSD04 and I have chosen to work with the Bra's Volume 1 set which has a lot of quirky and fun sentiments about friendship and dare I say....bosoms ;)




This fun polka dot bra comes hanging on a hanger and I snipped off the loop and replaced part of the image with a real wire loop and paper toled the bra to make it dimensional. I sponged the background with blues to really make the bra pop and to show the brightness in the coral colours. I coloured the "lace" on the bra with my white gel pen and added some highlights with my sparkly stardust pen :)

Now, do you wanna see what I did with this fabulous set? I made Granny extra fablous and went a little crazy with some stickles...well, maybe extrememly crazy with said glitter glue! Granny's hat, shoes, jewllery, buttons, and flower centers all have sparkles...um so does all the wild wasabi matting...and...maybe just a few more sprinkles on the flower punches. Hee hee :)




So this Granny Fashionista is sporting prisma colour pencil crayon and gamsol everything! She chose her favourite minty green knit sweater and decided to punch up her ensemble with a lovely floral print dress in shades of citrus. I think we can all agree that Granny is somewhat of a trendsetter, expertly choosing shades that highlight her blue tinged locks of hair. *grin*




I *may* have been a little indescisive on the shape that I wanted for the main image, so that's why you see this rather unique tag-ish shape expertly made by me :) I was determinded to keep this mishap because I spent the time colouring it before cutting it out (big mistake on colouring it before hand!) Lesson learned! lol

CDS Sneak Peek - Peony and BIG NEWS!

I am so excited that this day has finally come! I have to apologize while I bounce up and down as I try to type! I have been holding out on you, my wonderful friends! Since the end of January, I have been keeping a large, nasty, festering secret...wanna know what it is? Huh? Do ya? *grin*




Welcome to my dirty little secret *snort* Dreamtime Designs is the name of my brand spankin' new line of stamps that I have illustrated for Clear Dollar Stamps. Yep, you heard right. I'm now a stamp illustrator! Yay! I have been bursting at the seams to tell you and try to explain my absences from by blog while I was working on this...




What do you think? This Peony stamp set is my very first release and will be followed by many more in the months to come! The Peony set will be released for sale on June 1st over at Clear Dollar Stamps and really, that's just 3 more days that you have to wait *wink*




Just to give you an idea of the size of the flower, the card is 5 1/2" square and I have placed the peony in the largest labels 4 nestability. Its the perfect size for colouring up and maybe doing a little paper tole work too :) Illustrating stamps is a dream come true for me so I want you all to help me celebrate!
