CC273 - Pear-y Sweet

Whoo hoo! I'm so doing the happy dance here! This is the first time in a very looooonnngg time that I actually got a chance to participate in an SCS Colour Challenge in forevah! In fact, I can't even remember the last one that I played in. So let me re-iterate...WHOO HOO! :D

The challenge was Cocoa Banana Gardens (Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana and Garden Green) and we were allowed to toss in a bit of Soft Sky as a "cherry on top" if we felt so inclined to do so. I wasn't actually in the card making mood tonight but I found the colour combo too cool to resist as I had never even used my Garden Green package of card stock up until now :)

I was looking for a quick and easy image to water colour and one that I could match with the colour challenge so I pulled out this ever so sweet MFT Feelin' Fruity set that I love ever so much and don't get a chance to use too often. I water coloured it with my tombow markers and water brush then cut it out and popped it up on my sponged background. This card only took me about an hour to make so that's and even bigger bonus :D

I used some scrap Basic Grey papers and decided to get a little wild and crazy and place my sweet little creation on top of a GREEN card base. Are you as shocked as I was? *giggle* I always use white, but this created such a nice, fun pop of colour that I couldn't resist the temptation :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: MFT Feelin' Fruity
Paper: Garden Green, Banana, Cocoa, Water Colour, Basic Grey DP
Ink: Saffron, Garden Green, Cocoa, Soft Sky, Black
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Spellbinders Dies, Sponges, Pop Dots, Clear Embossing Powder, Tombow Markers, Water Brush, Scallop Edge Punch, Pinapple Twist Ribbon (CDStamps)

CDS Sneak Peek - Medallion de Fleur

Oh good! I'm so glad that you are joining me again for the second card of the day for the Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks :) This gorgeous background stamp is called the Medallion de Fleur and will be available on June 1st. For a larger peek of the stamp, please pop by the Clearly iStamp blog :)

When I first saw this stamp, I immediately thought of how feminine it looked and it begged to be embossed in white on white vellum. I adore how elegant this technique looks and I'm pretty sure that it was made for stamps like the Medallion de Fleur ;) This stamping technique looks particularly stunning on anything to do with weddings!

Since I was already working with the vellum, I decided to take it one step further and create the flower and leaves out of the same materials. I simply sponged some inks on a piece of vellum and then punched and die cut the shapes out. I think that it adds just the right touch of softness to the card :)

Clear Dollar Stamps has also recently introduced their own cardstock, ribbon, copic and tombow line called the Clearly Coordinating Collection. For my samples this month I used some card stocks from the soon to be released (June 1st) Rustic Fall line called Ripe Olive. I thought that it was such a pretty colour and if you take a close look at my card, I not only used it as a matting but also to add a change of colour behind the medallion embossed vellum and tied it all together with some of the Ripe Olive ribbon :)

Thanks for coming by again and here is a list of more CDS goodness for you to drool over ;)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Medallion de Fleur
Paper: Gina K, Ripe Olive, Velllum, Basic Grey DP
Ink: Regal Rose, Versa Mark, Old Olive
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders Scallop Circle Dies, Scallop Circle Punch, Sizzix Leaf Die, Ripe Olive Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Brad, Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Sponges, Pop Dots, Boho Blossom Punch, White Embossing Powder

CDS Sneak Peek - Scripture Children

Welcome back to another day of the Clear Dollar Stamps sneak peeks :) Today I actually have 2 sets to preview, so pop back in here later for the Medallion de Fleur sample. This gorgeous children silhouettes are from a brand spankin' new set called Scripture Children that will be released on June 1st. For a complete view of the set, pop on by the Clearly iStamp blog.

This card came together with such an unusual colour combo because I pulled the colours out of the already made sunset sponged background that I had left over from teaching my sponging class over at MCC. I was able to just trim the scene down using a nestability, re-sponge the edges and then add my stamped/embossed cut out children silhouettes. I then attacked my scrap bin looking for something that would match...and well...this was the final product ;)

Thanks for coming by today and remember to check back in a little later for my Medallion de Fleur sample. Until then, there are so many more gorgeous cards for your viewing pleasure, just click the links below and leave a little love along the way :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Scripture Children
Paper: Gina K, Basic Black, Water Colour, Scraps of Misc. Papers
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Not Quite Navy, Banana, Pumpkin, Mustard, Cocoa
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Spellbinders Dies, Powder Puff Ribbon, Sponges, Clear Embossing Powder

A TSG Birthday Blog Hop - SURPISE!

Don'tcha just love surprises? Well I do, so here I am today with the rest of the There She Goes girls to shout out a big 'ole HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our fearless leader Miss Jessica Knutsen!!! It's Jessica's birthday today, so the the girls all decided to get together to shower both Jessica and yourselves with a blog hop of really fabulous goodies ;)

If you have arrived here from Donna's blog then you are in the right place, if not then please start at the beginning over at Chris's blog ;) We want to be able to send you on a cruise of eye candy before you end the hop to send Jessica some wonderful birthday wishes ;)

This is a little 5x5 journal that I picked up to alter and ended up changing out the O-Wires to match as well. I created the front panel, inner panel and a backing to really personalize it with the Aim for the Clouds set. I cut out all the strips of designer paper and adhered them together to mimic the main image of the rolling hills and skyline because I think that it kind of adds that little sumpin', sumpin' to the whole shebang ;)

The image is water coloured (as always) with my tombow dual brush pens and a water brush and then only the hot air balloon was popped up because I was afraid that too much dimension would get smooshed when using the journal ;)

I hope you enjoyed our little birthday hop and now you can continue on to Mercy's blog to see all the yumminess that she has in store for you :)

Jessica, I hope that you have a fantastic birthday filled with wonderful family, friends, laughter and fond memories to follow :) Happy Birthday Girlie!

Journal Recipe:

Stamps: There She Goes - Aim for the Clouds
Paper: Black, Water Colour, SU DP, My Mind's Eye DP, October Afternoon DP
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Olive, Mustard, Baja
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Spellbinders Lg Circle Dies, Circle Scissors Plus, Journal, Bind it All, O-Wires, Tombow Markers, Water Brush, Brads, Clear Embossing Powder, Pop Dots, Sponges

A Snake for Jake

I just thought that I would pop in today and share a fun card that I made for a birthday party that my son went to today. I used one of the cuttlekids dies that I bought for my munchkins and put together this silly snake card in under an hour (that's record time for me! lol). The race was on this morning when I realized that I hadn't made a card to attach to the present yet - yikes!

If you haven't tried these cute little dies yet then you don't know what your missing especially if you have little ones around! I just think that they are so adorable and are certainly a life saver when you are in need of a quick kids card :) I may or may not have purchased almost all of the cuttlekids animals available when I found them on sale...but I'm not sayin' for sure ;)

Anyway, I hope that you liked my quickie card for the day and I'm off to see if there is an inner Julia Child's in me...it's dinner time baby! :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Monster Mash (sentiment)
Paper: Gina K, Black, Water Colour, October Afternoon DP, SU DP, My Mind's Eye DP

Mom's Day for Gram

I hope all the Momma's and Momma's-to-be had as wonderful day as I did yesterday :) My Mother's Day started out with a wonderful breakfast spread put on by my husband and kids, flowers, hanging baskets, cards with my kiddo's practicing writing their names in and a prezzie on the way ;) I'm sooooo spoiled!!! :D

I had a wonderful time enjoying my own family in the morning and then it was time to prep for dinner with my parents, brother with his wife and kids and my gram. I had my mom's gift all ready to go and in between making dinner and cleaning the house, I still needed a striking, yet quick card to make for my gram to celebrate her Mother's Day. I ended up surfing SCS and some of my favourite peep's blogs and decided to case Beate's gorgeous card. I swear that I could drool over Beate's creations for hours! Thanks Beate for all of your wonderful inspiration!

I changed up the card ever so slightly with different designer papers and a scrunch scallop circle flower instead of the rose. I love these flowers because they take mere minutes to make :D I added some sizzix die cut leaves and framed them around my Clear Dollar Stamps Mother's Day sentiment.

I was thrilled with how the card turned out and gram just loved it. My dinner for 11 was a big success and I couldn't have asked for nicer weather if I had tried. All in all I had a wonderful day with my family and I hope that you all did with your loved ones too :)

Thanks for coming by my way :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Happy Mother's Day
Paper: Gina K, Baja, Black, Olive, K&Co. DP

TSG - Mother of all blog hops!

Welcome to the There She Goes "Mother of all blog hops!" Don't know what I'm talking about? Then pop by the TSG Blog for all the info and start hopping from the beginning ;) What is the "Mother of all blog hops"? Well it's where a million and one card makers got together in honor of Mother's Day to show you some lovely creations with the TSG stamps....and give you the chance to win oodles of free stamps as well a chance to help design a TSG Stamp Set!!!!! I know I'm excited :D

So let's get started shall we? If you have arrived from Kimberly Stouffer's blog the you are absolutely in the right place. If you have some how stumbled upon my blog, then you must start back at the TSG blog in order to enter for a chance to win and start the hop in order :)

This card was made with both the Everyday Greetings set and the fantastic Bloom set. The flowers were heat embossed with a mixture of Ranger Gold and Gold Tinsel embossing powders to add some pretty, yet understated sparkle to the image. I then water coloured it with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers and a water brush. The main coloured paper is actually sponged with various inks to create a back drop to match my image since I didn't have any designer paper in the right shades of purples and blues. This is a really easy tip to do when you are stuck for papers and your local scrapbook store is closed for the evening ;)

Now that you have seen my goods, you are off to Michelle Van Patten's blog to have some more fun and to hopefully leave a little more love along the way ;) To all the wonderful mother's and mom's-to-be out there, have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Happy hopping everyone!

Card Recipe:

Stamps: There She Goes - Everyday Greetings and Bloom
