iSpy a Christmas Tag!

Hi everyone! Today I'm back with both a iSpy Sketches project made with goodies from eclectic Paperie :D This week we are featuring  Christine Okken ChristineCreations at SCS) and is inspired by this card.

I started out with an Inkssentials #5 Manila Craft Tag and then went to town adding layers of Ranger Distress Inks to create the background (Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Pine Needles, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo) with my Inkssentials Foam Blender. I created more depth around the edges of the tag with the darker inks and then added some "snow" with some watered down white acrylic paint in a Mini Mister :). I then added some of the the snowflakes from the Graphic 45 Nutcracker set to add to my whole snowy theme. I ended up heat embossing them with white embossing powder so that they really stood out against the green backdrop.

I created the fishtail banners with some of the Authentique Peaceful Line and then added a couple of little die cut Spellbinders swirls that were made with vellum and the snowflakes were made with the MFT snowflake die. I finished off the tag with some vintage seam binding and some cappuccino twine for an added little touch of whimsy :)

Thanks for coming by today and don't forget to check out the blogs below for more inspiration and please tune into the iSpy Blog next week for a very important announcement :)

TSGA - Penguin Pals

Hi everyone and welcome back to for another There She Goes Again week card using some fabulous products from eclectic Paperie :D

This little cutie of a penguin is from the Penguin Pals set from There She Goes. He was water coloured with Tombow Dual Brush Pens and then shaded with a chalk pencil. The background was created on 90lb cold press canson water colour paper using some Ranger Distress Inks in these colours: Weathered Wood, Broken China and Faded Jeans.  I also used some more Ranger Distress inks for sponging some of the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy Paper. I used Fired Brick on the red designer paper and Vintage Photo on the black polka dotted paper.

Because the original sketch has some mini panels on it, I used some Prima Mini Rhinestone Swirls to re-create that look (go with me on this one ;) After I adhered all of my papers together with Tombow Multi glue, I zipped it through my sewing machine with some black thread. I finished off the card with some ribbon and a button from the Mint Cooler Buttons Galore Collection and added the final finishing touch of some liquid applique to look like some fluffy snow for this little penguin :D

Don't forget that because it's American Thanksgiving coming up that There She Goes is having a Thankful for You sale! It's a great time to stock up on those sets that you have had on your wish list or to start purchasing some Christmas prezzies for the favourite stampers in your life :D

ISSC33 - Explore with eclectic Paperie!

Hi everyone! It's been a few days...or seven since I posted last due entirely to lack of mojo so what better way to get that mojo kick started then to use this week's iSpy Sketch! The ISSC33 challenge is from Cindy Elam (Cards4Ever @ SCS) and is based on this card

I started off by straying a little from the sketch by coming up with this camping scene using the Gone Camping set by Market Street Stamps. I'm not sure if you can tell or not but there is a pretty thick coating of Glossy Accents on the trailer to give it more of a metal feel and I added a mini brad for the door knob :)

I Sponged the sky in with Ranger Distress Weathered Wood and Broken China and then attacked my grass and handmade trees with Ranger Distress Forest Moss and hit up the gravel with Ranger Distress Pumice Stone. I used two different inks on the tree trunks - Ranger Distress Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge.

I thought that I would try something a little different and cut out the campfire from the curly cue smoke and added it to my scene, replacing the stamped "smoke" with some Mini Rhinestone Swirls "smoke" :) I then finished off the card with a little stamp tag and anchored it down with some Caribbean Twine :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Market St. Stamps - Gone Camping
Paper: Gina K, Black, Water Colour, Olive, Artichoke, Suede, Cocoa
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress: Vintage Photo, Weathered Wood, Broken China, Forest Moss, Pumice Stone, Rusty Hinge
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Die, MFT Grass Die-namics, Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Brad, Glossy Accents, Tombow Multi, Chalk Pencil, Water Brush, Caribbean Twine,Mini Rhinestone Swirls , Scotch Foam Mounting Tape

ISSC28 - If friends were flowers...

It's Friday and that means it's time for another iSpy Sketch Challenge! This week's ISSC28 is brought to us by Mary Brown (stampercamper @ SCS)  and is based on this card.

For this card I actually combined 2 sets by There She Goes. I used a sentiment from the  Dream a New Dream set and the flower from the World's Best set. I combined the two with my Simple Stories paper pad and I love how this card came together! It's been a while since I made a somewhat elegant looking card and this one is kind of elegant with a big touch of shabby :D

ISSC27 - Colourful Friends

Put on your sunglasses folks because this one turned out a wee bit bright! LOL This lovely flourescent card was made for this week's ISSC27 challenge over at iSpy Sketches. The sketch is from Toni Storie (ravengirl @ SCS) and is based on this card

Um...you might say that I got a little bit carried away with the colours that I used and then I had to scramble like a mad person to try and find some matching paper or ribbons. This challenge is ideal for those bits of scrap paper or ribbon that you have laying around and they certainly come in handy when you are trying to find coordinating papers (in my case anyway). I used an older Basic Grey line to coordinate with my *ahem* masterpiece ;)

Thanks for coming by today and don't forget to check out the design teams cards and welcome our newest DT member Arielle Gordon on her first sketch with us :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Skipping Stones Design - Healing Wings
Paper: Gina K, Black, Water Colour, Basic Grey DP

During There She Goes Again Week, Jessica also has the sets featured on sale so don't forget to pop by and check them out :D You can also visit the TSG blog to see what the Trendsetters have made with these sets. Can you say Christmas in July? :)

During the making of this card, copious amounts of glitter was used and one outfit was deemed "extra special" after using said copious amounts of glitter ;) To go with my under the water themed card I used the Make a Splash set from There She Goes

ISSC23 - Hugs and Kisses

Hi everyone! Summer has finally hit us on the west coast of British Columbia (thank goodness because June was dubbed "June-uary" around these parts) so my cards have been a little scarce as I have been out with my kiddo's enjoying the sunshine! School is out and camping fun is here :D

Today, I have another iSpy Sketches card for you and it's the ISSC23 challenge. It's  from GisèleWhittaker   (gmw1612 @ SCS) and is based on this card.

I had a couple of these sweet little band-aids already coloured up from the TSG release of Get Well Wishes so I made a get well card. This was the perfect sketch to do something a little more simple with but because it's not a common layout, it looks a little more snazzy ;)

Thanks so much for coming by today and don't forget to pop on by these blogs to see what the Special Agents have cooked up for you!

Stamps: There She Goes - Get Well Wishes

It's Friday, it's Friday! :D Yes, that means less than a week of school to go for my kiddo's and then summer break! This past week has been insane with camping and ball tournaments and hubby had the "man flu" then there's still the emails that I'm not caught up on yet from the past couple of weeks....*sigh* Is summer here yet? :)

Enough whining from me and let's get to this week's iSpy Sketches  and There She Goes Again card :) ISSC21 is from Paige Grabau  (Paige @ SCS) and is based on this card and because it's the week where the Trendsetters feature fabulous sets from the past, I have used the Bee Happy set on my card. Psst... a little birdie told me that this set is even on sale! Score!

ISSC20 - Spread Your Wings

Hey everyone! Welcome back for another iSpy Sketches challenge and this week's  ISSC20 is from Lori Boyd (3Bugs&Me @ SCS) and is based on this card.  Lori's card was just so pretty that we had to use her card as our inspiration!

After much fighting with my creation, it didn't turn out how I was hoping it would but it will do in a pinch. I really wanted my rainbow/leafy background to pop a little more but I was pressed for time - leave it to me to procrastinate right up until the last minute ;) I was making a card instead of packing for camping like I was supposed to be doing...priorities you know ;)

Thanks for coming by today and as always, pop on by these lovely ladies blogs and see what they have been up too :D

Stamps: There She Goes - Poppies, Spread Your Wings & Recollections (Leaves)

I decided to use the large blank area as a mini canvas and splash some Poppies on it. I just love the bright red with the combination of sage shadow, baja breeze, caramel and vintage photo inks!

Thanks so much for coming by today and don't forget to take the Special Agent tour with the ladies who helped me create this week's inspiration photos - they never disappoint!

ISSC16 - Just another day in paradise!

Hi everyone! It's Friday and that means it's time for another iSpy Sketches Challenge and this week it's the There She Goes Again week over at the TSG Blog :) For those who don't know what that is, it's where the Trendsetters make new cards with some of the older There She Goes sets! For my card I chose to use the Life's a Beach set because I really want to be on an island in the middle of no where right now...it's been a long week, what can I say? :)

This week's iSpy Sketches Challenge ISSC16 is from Dyane Fogleboch (Precious Stamps @ SCS) and is based on this card. I decided to be a little bit different and flip the sketch so that the bulk of my card was towards the bottom.  I water coloured the island and palm trees with my tombows and then I masked off the image so that I could sponge the ocean and sky background in :)

Thank you so much for coming by today and don't forget to pop by both the TSG Blog and all of the iSpy Special Agents blogs below to see what they have been up to :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: There She Goes - Life's a Beach
Paper: Gina K, Water Colour, Chocolate, Echo Park, My Mind's Eye, American Craft

ISSC15 - Beautiful Butterfly

Hi everyone! It's time for another iSpy Sketch Challenge and this week is a bit of a doozie...according to those who have a harder time with curved panels anyway ;) This week's challenge is ISSC15 is from Leanne W (From Leanne @ SCS) and is based on this card.

Now here is what the sketch looks like and keep in mind that the circles can be any shape so I chose to use a butterfly from my Clear Dollar Stamps set called Beautiful Butterflies.

As you can see from the photo below, that I actually coloured up the butterfly twice and glued the pieces together on the body of the butterfly. I then bent up the top layer of wings to kind of make it like it's in flight :)

The big curvy panel is completely sponged with various inks on water colour paper and the leaves have been created with the negative piece of paper from a die cut using the Sizzix Leaf Die. I love this technique with dies because you can create all kinds of beautiful backgrounds and the intense colours usually pack a punch :)

Thanks for joining me today and don't forget to see what some of the Special Agents have created for you this week. Don't be put off by the curvy panel ladies, because it's a fairly quick way to make a card and it adds such a unique layer to your cards :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Beautiful Butterflies
Paper: Gina K, Black, Water Colour, My Mind's Eye
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Baja, Bermuda Bay, Kiwi, Olive, Artichoke, Burgundy, Razzleberry, Eggplant
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Clear Embossing Powder, Tombows, Water Brush, Chalk Pencil, Ribbon, Leaf Stick Pins, Sizzix Leaf Die, Drafting Bendable Ruler, Sponges, Dimensionals

ISSC14 - Tulip

Happy Friday! It's time for another iSpy Sketch challenge and this week our sketch, ISSC14 is from Brenda Orso ( fuzzymaddy@ SCS) and is based on this card.I  love the simplicity of Brenda's card but I did take a little creative licence with mine by taking one of my panels all the way to the top of my card ;)

While cutting the paper for my panels I got a little crazy by adding some decorative edges with some of my Spellbinder's dies :) The papers that I used are from an older line of Basic Grey and the base paper is My Mind's Eye. I thought that these particular papers had a hint of elegance and the punch of red really set of the lovely tulip from the There She Goes Tulip set :D

Thank you so much for coming by today and don't forget to stop by and see what the other Special Agents have created for you :)
