TSGA - Sweet Pea

Hi everyone! I'm back today with a quick post and a "I hope that you all had a sweet Valentine's Day" wish :D I myself, was taken out to a lovely and romantic dinner with my husband to one of our favourite Greek restaurants and all I can say is YUMMY!

So enough about the smoochy hugs and kisses stuff and onto my There She Goes Again card featuring the Sweet Pea set. For those of you who don't know what TSGA week is, it's where the Trendsetters feature brand spankin' new cards using older sets by There She Goes. Click on over here for more goodies to feast your eyes upon :)

These peachy sweet peas were water coloured with tombows and the background was done with re-inkers. I used some scraps of unknown designer papers and dusted off some really old embellishments to kind of create an interesting new embellishment....the key word is "tried" here folks ;)

Thanks for swinging by these parts and don't forget to drop back in for the new release sneak peeks next week! Toodles for now :D

TSGA - Penguin Pals

Hi everyone and welcome back to for another There She Goes Again week card using some fabulous products from eclectic Paperie :D

This little cutie of a penguin is from the Penguin Pals set from There She Goes. He was water coloured with Tombow Dual Brush Pens and then shaded with a chalk pencil. The background was created on 90lb cold press canson water colour paper using some Ranger Distress Inks in these colours: Weathered Wood, Broken China and Faded Jeans.  I also used some more Ranger Distress inks for sponging some of the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy Paper. I used Fired Brick on the red designer paper and Vintage Photo on the black polka dotted paper.

Because the original sketch has some mini panels on it, I used some Prima Mini Rhinestone Swirls to re-create that look (go with me on this one ;) After I adhered all of my papers together with Tombow Multi glue, I zipped it through my sewing machine with some black thread. I finished off the card with some ribbon and a button from the Mint Cooler Buttons Galore Collection and added the final finishing touch of some liquid applique to look like some fluffy snow for this little penguin :D

Don't forget that because it's American Thanksgiving coming up that There She Goes is having a Thankful for You sale! It's a great time to stock up on those sets that you have had on your wish list or to start purchasing some Christmas prezzies for the favourite stampers in your life :D

Happy Birthday TSG!

Hi everyone! This week has been a week long celebration with There She Goes (check out their snazzy new website) because TSG just turned 4! To help us to celebrate some of the Trendsetters have come up with daily challenges and today, Jessie challenged to use some embellishments. I may have an embellishment or two for this challenge ;) In fact, I have many lovely embellishments from when Kim Schofield decided to spoil us rotten with big box of goodies from eclectic Paperie!

So let me tell you what I did for this card. I started with some Maya Rd. Felt Pearl Posies and Mini Canvas Butterflies. Because these started out as a creamy colour, it allowed me to attack them with some Ranger Distress Re-inkers to dye them! All I did for the posies was to add a little Ranger Distress Milled Lavender Re-inker and Ranger Distress Tattered Rose Re-inker to about a teaspoon of water and let the posies soak up the mixture for a few minutes! I did the same with some die cut felt leaves with a little Ranger Distress Peeled Paint Re-inker and Bob's your uncle :D I just let them air dry while I assembled the rest of the card and then stuck them on with a little Tombow Multi adhesive.

For the little canvas butterfly, I actually pulled out my Ranger Distress Wild Honey Stain and smooshed some of the colour into it and then ran it under the tap for a second to dilute the colour a little. It was pretty solid and because it's already an intense colour I wanted to just soften it up a little.

I paired my embellishments up with the My Mind's Eye Fiddlesticks paper pack and distressed it with both Ranger Distress Antique Linen and  Ranger Distress Vintage Photo to have a bit of a shabby look to go with the flowers. I love how this card turned out and I especially love the font for the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Sweet Peas set from There She Goes. It's absolutely perfect for the card :D I finished it off with some additional pearl embellishments and some vintage seam binding that matched the Sahara Sand cardstock that I used for the matting :D

Thanks so much for joining me today and if you would like more details on how to play along with the birthday celebration challenges then please visit this post :)

Stampbook Saturday - One Scoop at a Time

Hi everyone! It's my turn for a Stampbook Saturday post over at the TSG blog so I will apologize now ;) I have not ever once claimed to be a scapbooker and I think that this layout is the 4th one that I've made in my life. With having kids you would think that I would have started out as a scrapbooker first but I'm pretty terrible because I don't even print my photos *hangs head in shame*

I did however have this sweet picture of my daughter on hand from my son's 8th birthday party so I decided to combine her with the Enjoy Life set as well as the coordinating ice cream dies. I die cut the scoops of ice cream on various different pastel card stocks and then sponged some coordinating inks on them. I then added a rather large stack of them to my cork cut cone. You can sign me up for one of these ice cream cones any day! Yum!

Now because I'm not a scrapbooker, it didn't even occur to me until just now that I should have added some journaling to make it authentic! LOL! Some scrapbooker I am!!! I have to say though, that I do love how this turned out and so does Ashlynn and that's what counts in the end right? :D

Stampbook Page Recipe:

Stamps: There She Goes - Enjoy Life and Coordinating Dies
Paper: Basic Grey, K&Co, Plum, Saffron, Pink, Baja, Celery, Cork, Vellum

Weekly Menu Planner

Hi everyone! Kim T here for "Anything but a card Friday" and I decided to try something a little different this week! I had an extra 8x10" frame laying around my craft room so decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and make a project as well as to help myself in my weekly meal planning! (The picture below is a photo of the card without the glass so that you could see some of the details)

I am forever plagued but losing the my weekly meal planning lists and because I don't particularly enjoy meal planning in general, there is nothing worse than having to do it twice in one week! So I made this pretty dry erase board meal planner using the Bon Appetit set and my computer :D I created the little weekly calendar and banners on my computer and combined it with my coloured chef whom I have affectionately named Chef Boyardee :D

Did you know that glass acts beautifully as a dry erase board? So framed works of art/cards are the perfect use for creating beautiful dry erase boards. This one will sit on my kitchen island and now I won't have to go looking for stray lists that have grown legs and walked away all by themselves and best of all it's re-usable!

Meal Planner Recipe:

Stamps: There She Goes - Bon Appetit
Paper: Caramel, Gina K, Water Colour, Basic Grey, Black, My Mind's Ey, K&Co
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo
Accessories: Sewing Machine, 8x10 Frame, Computer and Printer for Chart and Sentiments, Sponges, Tombows, Chalk Pencil, Craft Knife, Tombow Multi

Sponging a Scene Tutorial!

Remember this card from earlier in the week? Well you are in for a treat today! It's my Trendsetter week over at the TSG blog so it was my turn to put together a trend or tutorial for you, so I chose a tutorial...a video tutorial *insert oooh's and ahhhhh's here* :D

Well folks, it's been a few years since I made any sort of video tutorial and I was a little nervous but here goes and try and not laugh me out of the building, 'Kay? ;)

So, what did you think? Think that you can create something like this yourselves? I can assure you that it is very easy and it goes quick once you get started! After the tutorial was shot, I did add a little bit of shading under my crab and some highlights with my white chalk pencil to create the waves! Easy Peasy and it's perfect for all of those images that you colour up ahead of time...just leave a little extra white space around your image and you are good to go for creating the scene of your dreams!

List of supplies for the tutorial:

Stamps: There She Goes - Beach Bums
Paper: 90lb Coldpress Canon Water Colour Paper

Ink:  Baja Breeze (SU), Bermuda Bay (SU), Pacific Point (SU), Not Quite Navy (SU), Creamy Caramel (SU), Ranger Distress Antique Linen

Accessories: Cloud Template, 2-Way Glue Pen, Scrap Paper, Sponge Daubers, Masking Tape

TSG171 - Feeling Crabby?

Hi everyone! It's my turn to come up with the weekly challenge over at the TSG blog so I have come up with a sketch for you all. I know, you are completely shocked by my choosing a sketch but try to play along anyway :D

Because my Beach Bum hermit crab scenery image turned out to be a little larger than I expected, I turned the sketch on it's side and fudged it a little ;) I kept the papers relatively simple by choosing some of the more muted sheets from the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy line. because I wanted the image to really stand out :)

I ended up getting a little bit creative with my seam binding, twine and button combo, just to add a little bit of interest without making the card too busy. I added some additional sponging to the edges of the papers with some Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Ranger Distress Vintage Photo inks as well :)

If you would like to play along with the Trendsetters in this sketch challenge then don't forget to drop by the TSG blog to link up your card :) I hope that you like my card today and stay tuned for a very special post on Wednesday - you won't be disappointed as I have a wee bit of a surprise for you :D

Pretty in Pink with Eclectic Paperie

Hi everyone! I just wanted to show you a little card that I made and boy, have I used a lot of wonderful goodies for this one :D When I first sat down to start this card I had the idea in mind to use bright colours because I adore bright, bold colours...but this card had a mind of it's own and voila...a shabby and distressed card instead ;)

I started with The Crafter's Workshop 6x6 Mini Mix and Match Hearts Template and then attacked it with some pink ink as well as some Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks onto My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy paper to shabby it up a bit :) This turned out to be the starting point for my card :)

What goes better with a shabby style then, pearls, buttons, twine and seam binding? Maya Rd Canvas Butterflies and Pearl Trinket Pins of course! I did dress up my canvas butterfly with my Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber in Shell Pink. It's such a pretty shade and I couldn't resist!

I then finished off my card with a coordinating sentiment from the TSG Side by Side set and stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, half pearl embellishments and loads of distressed edges. This isn't normally the style of card that I create but once in a while like to step out of my box and try something new :D I hope that you like it and thanks for coming by today!

Card Recipe:

Stamps: There She Goes - Side by Side
Paper: Gina K, Suede, My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy, K&Co

Getting Dirty with Angela Thomas

I'm back today with a card that I made for my bestie Angela Thomas' Dare to Get Dirty Challenge :D This card is for her DTGD12Jellybean74 challenge and I have to admit that I did alter it a wee bit :D If you are a Splitcoaststampers Fan Club member then you can play along too and find out how I altered my challenge card :D

For this card I used the Scootin' By set from There She Goes (currently out of stock). This was a case that so often happens to me...I colour up the image first and then try in vain to find papers that match. Most of the time it's not a problem but for this card, it was a challenge. I think that everything works though :)

Thanks for coming by today and don't forget to play along in the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges if you can. They only happen once a year and there is oodles of talent to be seen :D Oh, and did I mention that there are prizes? *grins*

Card Recipe:

Stamps: There She Goes - Scootin' By
Paper: Gina K, Water Colour, Black, My Mind's Eye
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Vintage Photo, Baja, Teal, Olive, Pumpkin, Artichoke
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Corner Chomper, Buttons, Tombow Markers, Chalk Pencil, Water Brush, Sponges, Glossy Accents, Seam Binding, Twine, MS Leaf Punch, Tape

The Dirty Girls are at it again!

It's that time of year again! What time you ask? Well it's the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges going on over at Splitcoaststampers of course! This year I'm hosting a challenge again but I' can't share the details of that challenge...no, no, no ;0) You have to be a Fan Club member in order to join me and all of the other Dirty Dozen and Dirty Dozen Alumni in the games :D Already a Fan Club Member? Well then join me for my challenge won't you? :D

While in the US last month I borrowed this image from my friend Angela (the Cat's Pajama's image) but I forgot to stamp out the sentiment to match, so I combined it with a sentiment from the Sentimental Birthday set from There She Goes. I think that it works well don't you? :)

That's it for now but I will be back tomorrow with another Dare to Get Dirty card for you viewing pleasure :) On a side note, I would like to apologize for clogging up your email and google readers with a glitch in my blog distribution of posts. Apparently quite a few of you were bombarded with posts dating back to May 1st. I'm not sure how that happened? Anyhoo, I'm sorry for forcing my cards upon you all :D

Card Recipe:
