CDS Sneak Peak - Asian Plants

Asian Plants is one of the new December releases by Clear Dollar Stamps. I really wanted to create a rich card with some golds and deep purples so I coloured my image that way. I went to finish the card off with some gorgeous designer papers that I had purchased while shopping in another town, but I couldn't find them! I hunted around my craft studio and they never did turn up!

I decided to make my own designer paper by stamping the bamboo image from the set all over the background and then heat embossing it. I then added some sponging in different shades of purples and yellows to soften the paper. I added a vellum overlay and stitched it down to add some subtle interest to the card and it's supposed to have the same feeling as a soji screen (supposed to anyway ;)

My image was stamped, heat embossed, watercoloured and sponged. I then added some crystal effects to the bonsai pot for a ceramic glaze. I did the same for my piece of hodgepodge hardware because I coloured with with a black permanent marker and wanted to add a high gloss sheen. I then finished off the card by threading a gauzy black ribbon through the friend sentiment.

It's sneak peek time for CDS so don't forget to stop by and see what everyone else has created with their Asian Plants set :)
