It's all about the texture, oh...and the blog candy!!

I love this new stamp set from Artful INKables! Orange you Sweet, along with 3 others were released yesterday - they are just too much fun to play with :) As the title says...it's all about the texture with this card! The textures that I am talking about are very subtle, so I thought that I would show you close up.

As with any blogger blog, you can click on the photo to see an extreme close up - I'm pretty sure that even legally blind persons could see the details with these photos!!

I really wanted to make the orange peel shiny and somewhat bumpy, just like the real thing. I managed to achieve this by colouring the orange rind with my Versa Marker and then put a very fine coat of clear embossing powder over it. I only heated the embossing powder until it slightly melted the powder to make it bumpy rather than smooth (I also did this with the leaf and the orange wedges). For the glass of orange juice, I added just a touch of glitter pen to highlight some of the areas on the glass and then gave it a nice thick coat of Crystal Effects - it's such a glossy glass :)

I love to touch this card because almost everything on it has some sort of texture. The Cosmo Cricket DP has a linen like texture; I added the 'bugged embossing to the Basic Grey DP, the watercolour paper creates a lovely mottled effect when the inks are absorbed by the porous paper, I added stickles to the Tango Tangerine to give it a little glitz and the stitching also adds more texture to the card (along with the embellishments). How's that for a run on sentence!!! My old English teacher is cringing, I'm sure of it!! lol
