Flower Friends

This is just a quick posting before I head to bed for the evening - I have been burning the candle at both ends and now it's starting to catch up to me! I made this card using the Dirty Girls challenges over at Splitcoast stampers and this one combined Julia's (sewing) and Joan's (silhouettes) challenges in one card.

I used one of the July Artful INKable's releases called Pressed Petals and it worked out perfectly for the challenge and also worked very nicely with my designer paper - bonus! I actually used the sentiment from this set and made a ribbon slide with shrink plastic. I bought the shrink plastic 2 days ago and I can't seem to get enough of it! It's just too darn fun to play with :)...ok, where was I? Oh yeah, the quote actually says "If friends were flowers I'd pick you".

I bought the frosted shrinky dink from Michaels and stamped the quote with black stazon on the rough side. I then used one of my label nestabilities to cut out the shape. This stuff is so much fun because after shrinking it in my toaster oven it is less that a quarter of the original size and hard as plastic! Like I said, soooo much fun and it's great entertainment for little ones to watch all curl up in the shrinking process! Cheap entertainment at that! lol

I am newly addicted to this stuff so stay tuned and you will see some other creations closer to the end of the month ;)

Cute card, Kim, & that shrinky stuff looks like so much fun to play with!! Can you heat it with a heat tool, or does it have to be the oven? I remember playing with Shrinky Dinks back in the day, watching through the oven door ~ ahhh, simpler times :)

This is gorgeous! I love all the details that went into it, from the tiny tag to the stitching, the Dew Drops and Cuttlebug layer--it's all just fabulous!

Wonderful colors on this Kim! and super sewing - I love the shrinky dink sentiment - I have that stuff and only tried it once so far when my little stampings turned out so tiny you almost couldn't see them! I need to practice I guess!! you seem to have it very under control!
