Tigerlily

This card, not unlike some of my others - almost ended up in the trash! I started to watercolour it fairly late in the evening and wanted to finish it off before I went to bed. I finished up all my 3D pieces and assembled them, realizing that I had forgotten to shade the background of my card. I should have stopped there and gone to bed, but oh no....stupid me picks up a bashful blue re-inker and goes to town. After finishing it off I put it aside until the morning. Lets just say that the sunlight was not very complimentary to my bashful blue mess! I was so frustrated at how awful it looked that I swept if off to the side of my table with some scraps.

I left it there for a couple of days (...my craft room isn't the cleanest in working order) and when I finally did decide to tidy, guess what fell on the floor beside the recycling? I thought that I would try and rework the image...the worst I could do to it was wreck it some more right? I used a wet aqua painter to lift off as much of the bashful blue as possible and let it dry. I then took my chocolate chip re-inker and tried to use the darker colour to cover my mistake. It didn't turn out too badly so off I went to design the background. I used Michelle Zindorf for some layering inspiration of different images to make a collage, put it together and added some stickles...DONE! This card was finally finished after almost making a trip to the trash :)

Well it's a good thing you didn't throw it away, Missy!!! You'd be that much poorer :) I love it & I can't imagine it ever looked bad. If you ever have another of those that you feel the need to throw away ~~ send it to me instead! I would treasure it forever :)
