Peek-a-boo Charlie

Isn't this stamp just the cutest? If you haven't already met this little fellow, allow me to introduce you...everybody, meet Charlie! Charlie is a fairly new design of Clear Dollar Stamps and I just got him in the mail. I made this sweet little Charlie card to celebrate being on the CDS Design Team (I am still waiting for my DT package to arrive in the mail, so out comes dear Charlie :)

His little face screamed to be popped up on dimensionals and I paper pieced the fence with some K&CO. designer paper so that it looked some what realistic. I purchased an E.K Success punch last year and I am ashamed to admit it...never used it. I dusted it off for this card because I thought what was supposed to be clock arm punch outs looked like farmyard barn door hinges. Added some glitter, dewdrops and ribbon, maybe a touch of sewing and the card was almost completed. I am going to let you in on a little secret....are you ready? Look inside...

Some of my cards take me a few hours to complete so that in my mind they are special, because of this I have always had a tendency to make the inside as special as the front of the card :) This does take a little extra work, but it is sooooo worth it when the person who receives the card opens it up to see a little treat - in this case a peek-a-boo Charlie. I always stamp a coordinating image on the envelope to decorate it as well - gives the people at the post office a little chuckle and excitement to their day! lol

It really is all about the details for me - as much trouble it can be sometimes!

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Clear Dollar Stamps - Charlie Fenced In
Paper: Basic Grey, Papertrey White, K&Co. DP, Basic Gray, Creamy Caramel
Inks: Versa Mark, Re-inkers, Basic Black, Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Cloud Stencil, Sponges, Stickles, Dewdrops, Ribbon, Brads, Clock Arm Punch, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter

I love that adorable Charlie image! He looks so sweet peeking over the fence - what wonderful DP you used on this - and so creative with the clock hand 'hinges'! The inside looks super! Congrats on another DT assignment!!

I love this card!!!! I was going to bid on it but what's the point, lol ~ it will go wayyyyy higher than I can afford!! But it's just so cute! And I *have* noticed your insides are just as pretty as your outsides (hmmm...that sounds a little weird!!) Keep up the great work ~ your cards are a pleasure to look at again & again!!

I really love how you do the inside of your cards. Another blogger makes the backside another piece of art. Like you, I love details, and I can see you put a lot of TLC into all your work.
