TSG76 - Recipe Challenge

I know what you are thinking...this is so not a recipe card. You are right! This week over at the TSG Blog, fellow Trendsetter Piali challenged everyone to make a card following this recipe: kraft card base, use black and white with a splash of colour and must use dry embossing.

This challenge was a little bit out of my comfort zone since it's not often that I just use black and white. This left me with a little bit of a designer paper problem...as in I don't own any just black and white designer papers - so I decided to create my own. I took the leaves and dots from the Dance set to stamp in black and caramel onto my white card stock. I then dry embossed a piece of vellum and covered over my home made designer paper to mute the colours and to create an elegant back drop for my butterfly. The butterfly is actually from the Poppies set and was water coloured, popped up and coated with a generous amount of crystal stickles :D. To finish of my card I used this inspirational sentiment from the Angel Mail set. Not only did I do a mish-mash of stamps, I followed the TSG76 challenge and tossed in a little of this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC88).

So do you want to play along with the Trendsetters too? If you do you can be eligible for the giveaway! All you need to do is to create a card that uses the following recipe then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge will be open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (10-18-2010). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Thanks for coming by today and have fun with the challenge - I know that I did :D
