Mojo160 Bella Style

Hi everyone! I have been making cards like crazy this past week so I have another one to show you today! I coloured up this sweet lil' huggabugg and followed this week's MOJO160 sketch challenge. I turned the sketch to suit my image.

So this sweet Flutterby Huggabugg morphed into many different outfits while I was colouring her believe it or not. I know that sounds a bit "out there" but let me explain. I first coloured her in purples and didn't like it, then I coloured over her ink red derwent inktense pencils put black spots on her. Thinking that this looked alright, I took the next step and cut her out. I should have stopped there right? Noooooooo (said in a heavily sarcastic tone) I thought she might look nice with some stickles on her black polka dots. I wanted her dots to flow with her wings but apparently I hadn't had enough coffee in me yet. I accidentally grabbed my liquid pearls and squeezed some on before I noticed that it wasn't the stickles and when I went to pull it away, some dripped outside of the lines. So what do I do next? I wipe it away with my water brush and in turn smear black ink and liquid pearls all over my colouring. Now, normally this mistake would have seen a "trashy" end but I'm a determined person, especially after I have painstakingly cut out all of this bugg's limbs with some extremely dull scissors so I wasn't about to throw her out. So, I decided to take my red tombows to try to fix my mistakes and added some white gel pen dots instead.

All and all, I now have a multi-layered huggabugg who is red with purple highlights and a grey iridescent shimmer! LOL Ain't she purdy! ;) So to add to my odd little bugg, as a finishing touch I added some prisma and gamsol grass a la Paulabella. Yep. You guessed it - it didn't turn out either. I didn't get my blending the way I wanted it so out came the sponges for a quick (although not very good) cover up job. It's a darn good thing the sketch required some buttons or brads to distract you from my mistakes - now if only I could work on not pointing them out next time! lol

Don't forget that this week's Bellarific Challenge will be to feature any Ketto stamp. Just make up a project using any Ketto of your choice an email the a picture off of it to Emily and she will proudly display your project on her blog this Friday :D
