Oh Happy Day!

And what a happy day it is - I actually have a card to post! Ha! I knew that my missing mojo had to return at some point...coincidentally it came back when my deadlines disappeared ;)

I so *love* this set! It's an older set by There She Goes called Happy Day and I have been itching to ink it up since it arrived in my mailbox a few weeks ago. I love the whimsical look of the images and that fact that it was just begging to be jivin' with the paper tole :)

I used my tombow dual brush pens and a water brush to water colour the images up before making them 3D. I then sponged the background with various inks and placed my image on top so that it really popped.

The papers that I used are both from October Afternoon and I thought they fit so perfectly with the images to help make the card cheery. I then rounded the selected corners and added the word window punches and ribbons to balance out the card. The sentiment banner also helps to disguise my boo boo.....ahem, intentionally modified Spellbinders die cuts. You may or may not notice that 2 of rounded the sides have disappeared from the cut outs...yes, that really was done on purpose *cough...not...cough* ;)

So, now guess what I did when I came upstairs from my studio to edit these photo's on my laptop? You will never guess. Go ahead. At least try! I *almost* spilled and entire glass of water on my card AND on my photo card! *GASP*

I was lucky enough to have misjudged the edge of the counter (in the dark - yeah, I'm pretty S-M-R-T) and thankfully the card and the photo chip were in my other hand as I slipped in my spilled water on the linoleum. Not a drop of water on the card, just all over my floor and patootie ;o) What a girl won't do for the sake of a card, hey? LOL

I love this Kim! That image is just precious and I would never have guessed that you made a mistake. I also think a true crafters talent lies in covering the evidence :)
