OCC - Sketch Challenge

It's a beautiful day for another challenge at Our Creative Corner :) I am today's host and it's a sketch challenge...I figured that you all needed a break after last week's Limited Supply Challenge *wink* You're going want to play along this week for sure because there is a giveaway!! Lori McCroskey, owner of Clear Dollar Stamps has generously donated this week's prize of $25 worth of the stamps of your own choosing :)

And since there is a big Clear Dollar Stamps prize being given away, I decided to use my CDS Thankful for You set. I paper tole'd the flowers and coloured the centers with my glitter pen so that they have the slightest of gold shimmer to it. The vase has been coated in a layer of crystal effects to give it a little bit of gloss and pizazz. *grin*

I wanted to show you my interesting ribbon treatment. I am always trying to think of different fun things to try on my cards and today's ribbon treatment was something of a happy mistake. The swirls are actually some of the long Spellbinder's Doodle Parts Dies that have been die cut, embossed and then sponged with close to cocoa ink. I was trying to arranged them on my card and it just started to look a little too busy, so I started giving them a haircut :) I arranged so that they looked like they were actually one die cut and then hid the cut off parts behind the layer of ribbon. I really wanted this card to be feminine, so I added the gemstone brad to the center of my metal filigree flower.

So now that you have seen my card and know that there is a lucrative giveaway, please check out what the OCC girls have put together for you :) For all the info on how to enter the contest please visit Our Creative Corner!

I love that pumpkin and pink together! Absolutely beautiful - very East Indian in the feel.

Okay now, I've been trying for 4 months to get ribbon and brads together like that. How do you do it?!!!! Really, I'm asking how. I cannot figure it out!
