Warm and Cozy Christmas Wishes

Is it really Monday already? I seems that I have been down and out with a sinus cold for the last two days and haven't really been paying any attention to time! 'Tis the season for colds and flu I guess! I haven't even been in my craft room for 2 days and I'm glad I already had photos of this card saved and ready to be shared with you :)

For this card, I started my design and the stamp choice based off of the My Minds Eye designer paper with the yummy pastel colours and fun Christmas Tree Print. I knew with the whimsical print that I needed and equally fun image and of course my Cozy Critters set by Whipper Snapper came to mind :)

Because I picked the designer papers first, I was able to pull some of the colours out of it for my owl so that she coordinated with the rest of the card. The owl is popped up on dimensionals and has crystal effects on her beak and eyes. I have to admit that I debated about putting over sized googlie eyes on this cutie, but in the end the original design won ;P

I ran some of the designer paper through my cuttlebug to add some texture to the layers as well as sponging around everything and then stitching it all together. I switched thread colours so many times while making this card that I lost track and just stopped counting! I also added the two half circles to balance out the layout and popped up some punched carstock snowflakes for some more dimension. This way they kind of look like a subtle feature with their dew drop centers.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Whipper Snapper - Cozy Critters
Paper: Papertrey White, Close to Cocoa, My Minds Eye DP, Cosmo Cricket DP, Watercolour
Ink: Basic Black, Versa Mark, Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze, Various Re-Inkers for Watercolouring
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Dew Drops, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, 1 3/8" Circle and 1 1/4" Circle Punches, Dimensionals, Sponges, Crystal Effects, Clear Embossing Powder
