SC203 - Christmas Fishes

I told you that I have been busy with new Whipper Snapper Stamps! I took the opportunity to use the fish from Cozy Critters to use on the SC203 Sketch over at Splitcoast :)

This is the sketch that we were given to work with and it was perfect for my purposes. As a quilter, I instantly recognized this as a very common quilt block. I wanted to stitch around the individual shapes within my "block" which turned out to be no easy task! My card is 4 1/4" square and each little corner square is 7/8" square - pretty tiny!

I love the idea of creating little vignettes for my images so this fishy has a water world complete with some felt seaweed. I cut the tips of some swirls off some pre-sticky felt boarders that I had in my drawer. The fish has a coating of crystal effects and has been layered with dimensionals.

To create the waves, I used a pieced of scallop punched paper as my mask and then simply sponged around it with some re-inkers. I added some sponging of coordinating colours to my new Basic Grey designer paper (Granola Collection). I just got a large package of new basic grey collections in the mail from Clear Dollar Stamps yesterday and of course I had to play with them :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Whipper Snapper Designs - Cozy Critters
