Singing Angels

I'm back! (Missed me didn't you? lol) I have been so busy creating projects this week, that I completely forgot about posting on my blog! Sorry about that! I thought that I would show you two Christmas cards that I created using the new Angels set from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I also received a new box of Stampin' Up! goodies to my door the other day, so I ripped it open and made this card using the new Urban Garden DP. I am in love with the colours in these papers and thought that this flower reminded me of a poinsettia and would make a nice background for a non traditional Christmas card.

I decided to keep the layers somewhat minimal (for me anyway) on these cards to showcase the beauty of the angel stamp.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs - Angels
Paper: Papertrey White, Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Watercolour, Urban Garden DP
Ink: Basic Black, Versa Mark, Not Quite Navy, Re-Inkers
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Coluzzle, Paint Brush, Gelly Roll Glitter Pen, Dimensionals, Embossing Powder, Half Pearls, Sponges

I was experimenting with Vellum on this card....um, I'm not quite sure that I like how it turned out. I water coloured the angel first and then put the cuttlebug vellum overlay on. My idea was that the angel was to look somewhat like an apparition, but... well... you decide if I executed my idea well!! :) The cuttlebuged border at the bottom of the card was inked with Versa Mark and then coloured with the SU pastels. I was going to put a different scripture on the card, but after assembling most of the card I realized that I didn't leave enough room - oopsy! lol

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs - Angels
Paper: Papertrey White, Basic Black, Bella Rose DP, Watercolour, Vellum
Ink: Basic Black, Versa Mark, Re-Inkers, More Mustard
Accessories: Cuttlebug, Sewing Machine, Water Brush, Chalks, Score Pal, Half Pearls, Dimensionals, Dies, Stamp-a-majig, Sponges

Just a note - I am still waiting to hear from my very first blog candy winner! Please check this post to see if it is you and contact me as soon as possible so that I can mail out your set :)

Wow Kim, I can't believe how perfectly you stitched around that angel. The vellum looks really pretty, but I love that first card with the bright colors!!
