Got Verve?

Nope! But I sure do have alot of Artful INKables stamps and a few design team projects left to show you *giggle* I just love this sketch posted by the Verve Stamp Co., so I decided to play along using my Sunburst Dandies set. I wanted to use up some unloved papers to create this shabby chic card so this one has...1..2...3..4, designer papers in it! - I'm thinking that is a new record for me :)

With the amount of sewing and cutting that this card made me do, it is certainly worthy of a post all on it's own with some fabulous close ups...but alas...I am headed out the door on some much deserved holidays - so, on with the barrage of Artful INKables cards! (I'm going for the longest post in blogging history here ) *wicked grin*

Card Recipe

Stamps: Artful INKables - Sunburst Dandy's
Paper: Bo Bunny DP, Basic Grey DP, K&Co. Dp, Chocolate Chip, Watercolour, Papertrey
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versa Mark, SU Markers
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Martha Stewart Punch, Brads, Ribbon, Spica Gel Pen, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Embossing Powder, Sponges, Cuttlebug

Since I was talking about the Verve, what do you do without any of their stamps when you want to participate in any of their challenges? You use your AI Plant Prints and Basic Salutations! This card was made for the second sketch challenge this week and is actually only a sweet little 4 1/4" square card. I heat embossed some leaves onto the DP and used a swarovski crystal for the flower center since in went so nicely with the Absolutely Fabulous sentiment :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Artful INKables - Plant Prints and Basic Salutations
Paper: SU DP, Imaginese DP, Watercolour, Papertrey White, Basic Black
Ink: Basic Black, Versa Mark, Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Clear Embossing Powder, Marvy Punches, Ribbon, Brads, Swarovski Crystal, Dimensionals

I got a little sidetracked from the challenges that I was doing to make this card. I used the stem from the AI Plant Prints set. I basically CASED a card that I had made last year, but modifying the shape and colours...and stamp set (OK, so same idea, different card!) I love how sleek and sophisticated, yet modern this card is :) Here is the one that I made previously.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Artful INKables - Plant Prints, Basic Salutations
Paper: Papertrey, Old Olive
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Versa Mark, Old Olive, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Sponges, Embossing Powder, Mat Pack, Piercing Tool, Ribbon, Dimensionals

It seems as though I played with the design of this card forever, only to go back to the simple layout in my original idea - isn't that the way it always works out? lol I don't usually work well with brighter colours, so I had to add my grey base to tone it down. I took my colours from my Basic Grey DP and imagine my surprise when I went to tape down my fuchsia colour...it had this wild print on it that matched my Basic Grey DP - Score! I used the AI - Pressed Petals set to make this gorgeous little bloom that pops off the card :) I added a poly shrink charm and a fancy punched edge and done :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Artful INKables - Pressed Petals
Paper: Papertrey, Basic Grey, Basic Grey DP, My Mind's Eye DP, Wild Wasabi, Watercolour
Ink: SU Markers, Green Galore, Basic Black, Versa Mark
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Marvy and Martha Stewart Punches, Poly shrink, Ribbon, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Embossing Powder, Jump Ring

This is my very first and last Suspension card. Notice that there is currently no suspension involved? lol. Why? Because it looked hideous!!!!! For the life of me, I couldn't get the flower centered in the ring, the I tried to make a bigger hole as an afterthought....wouldn't punch through all the layers....sigh. You all know how this story goes! Here is my somewhat fixed version :)

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Artful INKables - Bloomin Beauties, Basic Salutations
Paper: Papertrey, Bo Bunny, Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery
Ink: Versa Mark, Riding Hood Red, Green Galore
Accessories: Oval and Circle Punches, Cuttlebug, Sewing Machine, Glitter, Quickie Glue Pen, Brads, Embossing Powder, Stickles, Ribbon, Dimensionals

I'm finally finished posting -are you still awake? lol I will be on holidays until next week (my fingers desperately need a break from all this typing) I will post some pictures of the family camping trip when I get home - see you then!

These are all beautiful Kim, as always. I'm not sure how you get so much done with little ones around ~~ my kids are a bit older & STILL I have to stop every few minutes to get them something, referee an argument, or answer a bazillion questions about what I'm doing. I had to LOL about the suspension card. At least you tried!! Have a wonderful vacation, you deserve it!!

DARN. I was feeling pretty good about my card "creations" until I visited your site. Now I've got to up my ante and start putting more oomph in my layers.

HOW do you mail these cards!? My post office goes ballistic if I have one tiny brad inside the envelope!
