Bellarific Sketch Challenge Re-run

Re-run, re-show and a sketch recycled! As you all know, Em was at the Creativ Festival in Toronto on the weekend, which meant no Bellariffic Friday last week on Bloggabella, so we are giving Elainabella's sketch another spotlight for this week's Bellarific Challenge!

For this card I used a cute little stamp called car with tree on top. Very clever name isn't it? lol I water coloured the image with tombow markers and then popped up parts to be 3 dimensional. During the water colouring process, I accidently coloured outside of the lines with red *sucks in breath and holds back a curse word*. Sooo, that meant that I had to cover up my mistakes with some trusty gel pens on the bumper because we all know that red is lethal to our images when not put where they are supposed to go (it stains the paper). Thank goodness for the wonderful cover up ability of gel pens! :)

I added these cool little silver half pearl thing-a-ma-bobs that I found in Michaels to be the ornaments that hung on the tree and I'm actually surprised that they look so real! I'm pretty sure that it was written in the stars that they were made just to be on my card ;)

Since this is a re-run post, I had made this Christmas card to show you this week because I didn't want to re-post the card that I made for last week...but let's have a little reminder shall we?

For those of you who want to play, are you ready to hear what next week's challenge is? It's a 1, 2, 3 challenge and that means you have to use 1 image, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments. I know that you ladies can do it, so have at it and don't forget to email it to Emily by Thursday at 5:00 pm :D I can't wait to see what you all do! Now ready, set, go and you are off to the races to see all da bella's blogs for their lovely creations!

The Light of Winter

It's sneak peek time at Clear Dollar Stamps and today I have one of my own brand new sets to share with you. Be prepared as there are 2 cards to share in this post - aren't you lucky? :0)

The set that I'm showing is called The Light of Winter and you can see the entire set at the Clearly iStamp blog. The set is a just a little set of 5 stamps and will sell for $4.99 but it has multiple uses and there is also a separate coordinating sentiment "Let God's light shine".

For this card I chose to water colour it with tombows and then pop it up to be 3 dimensional. I paired the image up with the Peaceful Wishes sentiment and holly image to make it a Christmas Card and dressed it with some gorgeous ribbon and elegant colours.

For my second card, I chose to keep it a little more simple. The candle has been water coloured and then I masked off the area and sponged the background in. I left a wide margin of white water colour paper and then added the panel to a simple embossed designer paper background. This card came together fairly quickly and the hardest part was not getting any ink smears on my white border from my inky fingers ;)

I did the two cards a little differently to show the versatility of the set. The first one was a Christmas card and the second one was more of a "thinking of you" or "thank you" card for the winter months.

Thanks for coming by today and this stamp set will be released for sale on November 1st. Don't forget to pop by the blogs below to see what the talented CDS girls have been up to :D

SFYTT - Snowy Days

Welcome to the last day of the There She Goes November release sneak peeks! If you have arrived here from Miss Julie's blog then you are in the right place, if not then please start back at the TSG Blog :D

Today I have this super fun set by Torico to show you and it's called Snowy Days. Remember this set? Well Snowy Days is the follow up of this sweet little pup and is a 4x6 stamp set that includes a total of 17 of stamps that will sell for $15.

For this card I participated in this week's SFYTT challenge by Jen del Muro and broke out some pretty Alphabet Soup line of papers from My Mind's Eye. These aren't traditional Christmas papers by any means but they are bright and fun and just what was called for this image :D

Speaking of image, I water coloured up the pup with my Inktense pencils and made sure that the colouring was quite rich and bright. The formula to do this is: the more pencil on the paper the brighter the colours ;) I then sponged around the area with some baja blue and bordering blue SU inks to really bring the attention to the image rather than the busy patterned papers.

Would you like a chance to win the Snowy Days stamp set? Here’s what you need to do. Just go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Snowy Days Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Snowy Days stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (Oct. 30th) during the Release Party Chat.

Thanks for coming by today and you are now off to Miss Natalie's blog.

Got my Amplee 'Tude goin' on!

Sorry for the extra post today folks, but I really wanted to participate in Mercy's Sketch Challenge MTSC97 this week since I had Miss Amplee 'Tude all coloured up and ready to go ;) If you came by to see my There She Goes sneak peeks, then please keep scrolling down the page :D

I pulled the colours for this card out or the My Mind's Eye pattern paper and went to town colouring this image with my tombows and a water brush. If you think that you are seeing spots, you are ;) I went around my image with some sponging in various pinks and the added some quickie glue pen dots and some glitter ritz glitter to add a little sass to the picture. She shines quite nicely in real life :D

Do you want to hear something really funny? As I was linking the stamp to the Stamping Bella store, there was a sample by Miss Linda Heavens that has her Amplee 'Tude in the same colours! I thought that I was seeing things! Great minds must think alike! :D

Ok, so since I'm all about not working my fingers to the bone typing today, I'm going to lift something from Lindabella's blog who lifted it from Danabella's blog just to share with you - gotta love the copy and paste features ;)

As you all know Em was at the Creativ Festival in Toronto on the weekend & she is still trying to recover; which meant no Bellariffic Fridays last week on Bloggabella SOOOO we are repeating the sketch for this week too! Email Em your cards by Thursday to be included on this Friday. Here is the sketch:

Gobble, gobble, gobble

Welcome back for day 2 of the There She Goes sneak peeks. If you have arrived here from Miss Julie's blog then you are in the right place, if not please start back at the TSG blog. Today there are actually 2 sets being previewed but I only have one sample to show you and that is the Gobble set by Torico.

Gobble is a 3x4 stamp set that includes a total of 13 of stamps and will sell for $7.

The other set that is being shown today is called In Stitches and it is a 2x6 stamp set that includes a total of 7 of stamps and will sell for $7

Well now that I have told you what's going on I suppose that you would actually like to see the card that I made? Let's hope so! :)

Because my stamps were held up at the border, I was working with digital images for this month's release. I pulled out my trusty Derwent Inktense pencils and got busy with some of the new Pyrus line from Basic Grey. I actually made my card for Holly's Sketch Challenge TSG78 and flipped it upside down so that the Turkey looked more balanced :) I so loved doing this sketch that may have to create more cards with it in the future. Thanks for the great sketch Holly!

Would you like a chance to win the Gobble! / In Stitches stamp sets? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Gobble! / In Stitches Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Gobble! / In Stitches stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (Oct. 30th) during the Release Party Chat.

Hope you can cling to - Cancer is for the birds!

So now that you have read up on the info, you are waiting for today's challenge for an amazing cause, well wait no more! Today's challenge is hosted by me and it's HYCCT26 Cancer is for the birds. Well..it is ;) So lets bring out all of your favourite feathery friends stamps and make a card to brighten someones day. The card can be masculine, feminine or for children...it's up to you ;) Please remember that these challenges have strict rules that you can view on the challenge post and on this thread for the FAQ's. You will need to mail in your gorgeous creations to:

The Department of Volunteer Services – Unit 115
Attn: Maggi Suttles

Houston, TX 77030

So you might be asking yourself why you should send away your gorgeous creations? Let me answer that. Because it will make you feel good, make someone else feel good and there are of course...prizes involved :D But most importantly, because there are people out there that could use a little hope these days ;)

My card uses and fun little stamp that I picked up from my LSS the other day and is a cling stamp made by Stampendous. I water coloured him with my tombow markers and a water brush and the popped up the little bird.  I wanted to create a neutral card so I used a bit of everything, scraps included. I finished off the card with some pretty pearls and ribbon and I figured that it could be an all occasion card or a Christmas card if someone wanted to give it away for the Holiday Season.

Thanks for coming by today and I hope that you get a chance to play in some of the challenges! For my TSG sneak peek card, please scroll down to the next post. I will warn you all. Bellarific Sketch Challenge!

Hi Ladies! Happy Bellarific Friday even if I am a little late to the party! I *almost* forgot to post the card that I made for my sweet baby niece's 1st birthday - oops! That wouldn't have been good would it? :s

This week the bella's were challenged by Elaineabella to create a card using her sketch. I used the Poppy Bittybloom and followed the sketch...mostly. You see, I had this deliciously rich ribbon from CDStamps that worked perfectly with my card so I just had to add it...you understand right? After all, I couldn't just turn my head and walk away when it was begging to be used ;)

So Miss Poppy has been water coloured with my Tombow Markers and has a lightly sponged background. I did another attempt at some prisma and gamsol grass and it honestly looked better before the gamsol dried! I only realized that I should have added some darker colours after I snapped the picture. C'est la Vie!

To finish off the card, I added the yummy ribbon that I mentioned earlier and added a flower made with an MFT Die-namic and a lovely pomegranate bella bauble to set if off. I then added some sponged leaf and branch Martha Stewart punchies and you could call this card done ;)

So now that you are finished listening to my babble, are you ready for next week's challenge? It's a 1, 2, 3 challenge and that means you have to use 1 image, 2 designer papers and 3 embellishments. I know that you ladies can do it so have at it and don't forget to email it to Emily by Thursday at 5:00 pm :D I can't wait to see what you all do! Now ready, set, go and you are off to the races to see all da bella's blogs for their lovely creations!

Card Recipe:

2 Peas in a Pod

*Warning* You might want to put on your sunglasses before viewing this card! LOL

I must be on an orange, green and black kick since my card uses the same colours as my last one ;) Today is my 9th Wedding Anniversary and I came up with this card for my wonderful husband to surprise him with. I used this week's Mojo161 sketch and inked up my Happy Peas stamp, 2 Peas in a Pod stamp and my Ha-pea Anniversary stamp (on the inside of the card) from my recent pile 'o goodies from Stamping Bella.

I tried to keep my card on the "fuss free" side because it was for Bill but I got a little carried away in the sponging department and now this card is rather fluorescent! lol There was no photo re-touching involved in this photo so that should give you some indication of how bright this card is ;)

I just wanted to wish my husband a very Happy Anniversary! He is the life line of the house, the best father I could have wanted for my children, my partner in crime, my best friend and most of all, after 9 years he still makes me smile and I'm thankful everyday because he chose to be in my life :D Mwah! Love you babe!!!

Thanks for coming by today to be blinded and have your ears almost bleed from all the sap in my post ;) I promise that my next post won't be so sentimental ;)

TSG77 - Blossom of Orange

It's time for this week's challenge over at the TSG blog. It's TSG77 and it's a colour challenge by our very own incredibly talented Sandra and she picked the colours of green, orange and black.

I used the Flowers of Happiness set to use and the center piece of the card. The flower was stamped twice, water coloured, cut out and stacked to make it 3 dimensional. I then added the flower to another image from the set to make a little "window". The designer papers have been sponged with coordinating inks and run through my cuttlebug for some fun texture and as a finishing touch I added a pearl to the flower, brads to the corners and some spica glitter pen to the leaves :D

Don't forget that you can play along for prizes! To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that uses the featured color challenge then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (10-25-10). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG77 so we can check out your beautiful work!

It's Ketto Time!

Welcome to this week's Bellarific Friday featuring Ketto stamps :D I took the opportunity to feature Anise Ketto and pair her up with some Basic Grey Kiyoshi designer papers. I'm thrilled with how she turned out and I even managed to channel a little bit of Lindabella and Paulabella with their choices of soft pastel backgrounds. I often choose the brighter colours for my cards but this soft pink was perfect for making this little ketto, pop :D

If you are hopping around all the bella's blogs and have come to mine first then great! If not, I should have you all know that Paulabella must have copied my Ketto because I had mine done first ;) I was for once in my life a head of schedule and completed my card on Sunday, so... pfffft on you miss Paula ;) Ah, the benefits of living on the west coast and seeing the Easterner's posts ahead of time! LOL

I have been having a ball playing with oodles of challenges lately so I took the opportunity to play along with this week's SFYTT challenge. The sketch was perfect for what I needed and it took me a little bit out of my comfort zone with the whole tilted panel...you could say that I am a huge fan of symmetrical ;)

For this Ketto, I water coloured her with my tombow markers (surprise, surprise...I know ;) and then added my shadows and sponging. I love the whimsy of stickles so of course I had to pile some of those on too, after all...what's a fairy without sparkly wings?

Thanks for coming by today and don't forget about next week's bellarific sketch challenge provided by our very own Elaineabella. All you have to do is make a card and email it to Emily by Thursday at 5:00 and you can see yourself featured on the Bella Blog :D

Mojo160 Bella Style

Hi everyone! I have been making cards like crazy this past week so I have another one to show you today! I coloured up this sweet lil' huggabugg and followed this week's MOJO160 sketch challenge. I turned the sketch to suit my image.

So this sweet Flutterby Huggabugg morphed into many different outfits while I was colouring her believe it or not. I know that sounds a bit "out there" but let me explain. I first coloured her in purples and didn't like it, then I coloured over her ink red derwent inktense pencils put black spots on her. Thinking that this looked alright, I took the next step and cut her out. I should have stopped there right? Noooooooo (said in a heavily sarcastic tone) I thought she might look nice with some stickles on her black polka dots. I wanted her dots to flow with her wings but apparently I hadn't had enough coffee in me yet. I accidentally grabbed my liquid pearls and squeezed some on before I noticed that it wasn't the stickles and when I went to pull it away, some dripped outside of the lines. So what do I do next? I wipe it away with my water brush and in turn smear black ink and liquid pearls all over my colouring. Now, normally this mistake would have seen a "trashy" end but I'm a determined person, especially after I have painstakingly cut out all of this bugg's limbs with some extremely dull scissors so I wasn't about to throw her out. So, I decided to take my red tombows to try to fix my mistakes and added some white gel pen dots instead.

All and all, I now have a multi-layered huggabugg who is red with purple highlights and a grey iridescent shimmer! LOL Ain't she purdy! ;) So to add to my odd little bugg, as a finishing touch I added some prisma and gamsol grass a la Paulabella. Yep. You guessed it - it didn't turn out either. I didn't get my blending the way I wanted it so out came the sponges for a quick (although not very good) cover up job. It's a darn good thing the sketch required some buttons or brads to distract you from my mistakes - now if only I could work on not pointing them out next time! lol

Don't forget that this week's Bellarific Challenge will be to feature any Ketto stamp. Just make up a project using any Ketto of your choice an email the a picture off of it to Emily and she will proudly display your project on her blog this Friday :D

CSC09 - By the Chimney With Care

I'm back today with another Christmas card for my stash using my Filled with Cheer set from Clear Dollar Stamps. I figure that you can never have too many Christmas cards on hand...now if only I would remember to actually mail them out! lol

So today's card was made for the CASEstudy blog challenge (CSC09) was inspired by their guest muse Barbara. When I saw the rather large panel on her card, I instantly thought that it would be perfect as a chimney to hang this sweet stocking by. So now the question is...does it look like a chimney to you? I'm really hoping so! lol

To do this I nabbed some neutral papers from various collection packs of Basic Grey papers and started cutting strips that would be my "bricks". I then sponged and embossed them and then adhered to a piece of sahara sand card stock. I picked some non traditional colours for this card because I knew that I was doing grey bricks and I love the idea of pinks and greys together :D

To finish off the card I added some decadent touches to it with the matching pink rhinestones, rich satin ribbon and a rather generous coating of stickles. I figured that if the card looked like a "girly" Christmas card with the colours alone, that I may as well add all of the bling to it too - go big or go home right? ;)

Thanks for coming by today and stay tuned as I have some more posts this week :D

Card Recipe:

TSG76 - Recipe Challenge

I know what you are thinking...this is so not a recipe card. You are right! This week over at the TSG Blog, fellow Trendsetter Piali challenged everyone to make a card following this recipe: kraft card base, use black and white with a splash of colour and must use dry embossing.

This challenge was a little bit out of my comfort zone since it's not often that I just use black and white. This left me with a little bit of a designer paper problem...as in I don't own any just black and white designer papers - so I decided to create my own. I took the leaves and dots from the Dance set to stamp in black and caramel onto my white card stock. I then dry embossed a piece of vellum and covered over my home made designer paper to mute the colours and to create an elegant back drop for my butterfly. The butterfly is actually from the Poppies set and was water coloured, popped up and coated with a generous amount of crystal stickles :D. To finish of my card I used this inspirational sentiment from the Angel Mail set. Not only did I do a mish-mash of stamps, I followed the TSG76 challenge and tossed in a little of this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC88).

So do you want to play along with the Trendsetters too? If you do you can be eligible for the giveaway! All you need to do is to create a card that uses the following recipe then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge will be open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (10-18-2010). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

Thanks for coming by today and have fun with the challenge - I know that I did :D

Mojo159 - Happy Holidays

Hey everyone! I'm here today with a super quick post with my Mojo159 card that features my Filled with Cheer set from Clear Dollar Stamps.

I used the holly and the sentiment from the set and water coloured it with my tombows. I sponged and embossed around all of the layers of the Basic Grey Wassail papers and added some soft sponging around the holly as well. I finished off the card with some luxurious taffeta ribbon and some mini adhesive backed pearls and this card could be easily mass produced for Christmas :)

Thanks for coming by tonight and stay tuned for a boatload of card postings that will be coming your way all this week. To all of my fellow Canadian friends I wish you all a very happy turkey bird eating day (aka - Thanksgiving) and save some pumpkin pie for me :D

Fall Colours and a Sunflower Bitty Bloom

Hi everyone! Thanks for coming by for this week's Bellarific Challenge of Fall Colours. This week you didn't have to use any sort of fall type of stamp, you just had to embrace the colours of nature that are popping out all around you at this time of year :D

For this card, I followed this week's SFYTT by Jen del Muro and made it a 4 1/4" note card. The image was actually one that I had coloured about 6 months ago and completely forgot about until I ran into it while cleaning up in my craft room - what luck! The little button sunflower was created using my SU Boho Blossom punch and the leaves were from my Martha Stewart Leaf Punch.

Thank so much for coming by today and don't forget to venture over to the Stamping Bella Blog to see all of the amazing bella eye candy :) And for those of you who want to participate in next week's Bellarific Friday, the theme is Ketto's. Just bring these sweet stamps out and create a card with one - easy peasy :D

Baby Buttercup

Hi everyone! I back today with this ever so sweet little Baby Buttercup from Stamping Bella. I created this card for Mercy's Sketch Challenge this week (MTSC94) and I have to admit...it terrified me! I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I decided to take her sketch and make something with it...well...it was challenging! I'm pretty sure that those 3/4" x 4" pink paper strips were going to be the death of me! I persevered and completed the card though - Yay me :D

I water coloured the baby image over the weekend so I had it ready to tackle a challenge for this week. I used my tombow markers (of course) and added some soft sponging with some Ranger Distress Antique Linen ink to the very edges of all the papers. I quite like this look as it makes the soft blue from around the flower just pop :D

Just a reminder to all the peeps who are wanting to participate in the Bellarific Challenge this week, that it's all about Fall Colours. You guessed it! That means oranges, browns, greens and mustard's - they are all welcome :) Oh and before I forget, I'm pretty sure that Emily is offering up some yummy goodies for her Tantalizing Toooosday sale - skip on over and take a peek when you have a chance :D
