CDS Sneak Peek - Picnic Time!

Yippee! It's sneak peek time for Clear Dollar Stamps and I have this cutie to kick off the summer season with. This set is called Picnic Time and is one of my own, and you can see the entire set over at the Clearly iStamp blog.

For this card I masked the skunk to fit into the picnic basket because clearly, he wanted to join the party too, and added a scrap of October Afternoon DP as a table cloth. The background was made up of strips of sponged card stock that I weaved together to mimic the basket. I water coloured the image with my tombows and popped up a few sections to make it more dimensional. I have to admit...I did have a hard time leaving lot's of "white space" and tearing myself away from all of the yummy designer papers that I had picked out for this card!

Thanks for coming by this neck of the woods today and don't forget to hop around and check out all the other sets that are being previewed :)

TSG Sneak Peek - Drink a Day

Welcome to the first day of the There She Goes sneak peeks and blog hops :) If you have arrived here from the fabulous and talented Jodi's blog then you are in the right place, if not, then please start the hop back at the TSG Blog :) Today I get to show you a fabulous new and funny set called Drink a Day! Now, I just know that there are some people out there that will be chomping at the bit to get their inky fingers on this delightful set!

I broke out my prisma pencils and odourless mineral spirits for this girly beverage and Miss Paula Williamson, I am not! I managed to fake it a little, but that was only after ruining the larger image that I coloured for the card! lol

I sponged the background of the image and added quite the assortment of October Afternoon Fly a Kite papers. I added the drew drops and some crystal effects for some fun but noticed that you can barely see them - at least I know they are there ;)

Don't forget that you have a chance to win this fun set buy leaving a comment on all of the Trendsetter's cards and then adding your name to the Mr. Linky back at the TSG home base. Good luck to you all and have some fun along the way!

Before I let you run away, I just wanted to mention that There She Goes is having their Change of Seasons Sale and the following 5 sets are marked down 15%

I Scream for Ice Cream

I scream for ice cream! It's almost summer break for my kids and pretty sure that I will be the one screaming shortly...for school to be back in session! Am I the only one that is dreading the summer holidays this year? My kids are 6 and almost 5 and all they do is fight all day long...*sigh*

Ok, my rant is officially over. Now back to your regular scheduled programming ;) I made this cutie of a note card with my Ice Cream mini set by There She Goes and pulled all the colours that I used on the ice cream from the Basic Grey Lemonade line :)

I added to the frosty goodness of the stamp with some quickie glue pen dots with glitter ritz fine glitter to make it look a little refreshing...or maybe just lumpy depending on your interpretation! lol Because the card was in some soft pastel shades, I was able to finally put my SU felt flowers to good use. Seriously, I have had these things since they first came out and I'm excited to say that they are finally jivin' with a card that I made ;0)

As usual, I have embossed all of my designer papers and please pay no attention to my upside down cherries...it was one of those kind of days where you are absentmindedly assembling your card and it isn't until you upload the photo to your blog that you notice your blunder kind of days ;)

Mmmm ice cream...what would summer be without it? :D

SC284 - Flopsy Gardens

It's raining here again so I thought that I would put a little sunshine into my SC284 challenge card today by playing with these fun Cosmo Cricket papers :) A little while I ago I purchased this cutie from the buy and sell thread over at splitcoast. It's the first time this guy has seen ink from me so I pulled him out because he puts a smile on my face :D

The original sketch was a longer width card sketch, so I stretched mine out to make this card a top fold A2 style, just because that's how I roll ;) lol

I water coloured the flopsy bunny with an assortment of tombow markers and a water brush and then cut out 2 layers of him. I then placed him on my very haphazardly sponged die cut and had him hang over the edge to look like he's an "out of the box" cut out image. The carrot itself was glued to the die cut while the rest of the stem and flopsy have been popped up to look more dimensional. I tore up a piece of cocoa card stock and sponged it to look like dirt, cut it to size and then covered up the bottom of the carrot to make it look like the carrot is still in the dirt.

I used all Cosmo Cricked Garden Variety papers because I swear, these were made for this gardening fiend! The bright papers worked so well with the whimsical images and they are covered in smiley faced vegetables! What more could this bunny want?

Thanks for coming by today and if your day is coated with a layer of rain then I hope that this card brought some sunshine into your day :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: MFT - Pullin' for you Flopsy
Paper: Gina K, Black, Water Colour, Cosmo Cricket DP
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Caramel, Cocoa, Baja, Navy, Garden Green
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders, Spellbinder's Circle Nesties, Sponges, Pop Dots, Clear Embossing Powder, Corner Rounder, Ribbon, Tombow Markers, Water Brush

TSG58 - Blue Bear

I don't know why this little guy reminds me of the Care Bears, but he does so I made him blue like the Champ Bear that my son owns :) I wanted to play along with the Trendsetters for Jodi's sketch challenge over at the There She Goes blog for TSG58 and this is what I came up with...

As you can see, I altered the shape from a rectangle to a square 4 1/4" note card and filled it up with bear hug goodness. The bear itself is three layers high and has some cheery sparkles for accents, and it's quite subtle really :)

This little fellow has been water coloured with my tombow markers and then placed on a sponged background. I have added texture to all of the layers of designer papers for fun and because I'm a texture kind of gal ;P You have probably noticed by now that the card base is Baja Breeze instead of my traditional white...what can I say? I'm expanding my horizons ;) lol

*** Just a little note aside of the card today. Angela Thomas (Jellybean74 @ SCS) and myself are in the early planning stages of putting together an SCS Stamping Get Together later in the summer on Vancouver Island and would like to extend the invite to not only local stampers, but to anyone from the US who can make it as well. If you are interested in attending something like this, please let us know! We have started a thread at SCS and are looking for suggestions, dates that would work for everyone, volunteers for swaps, etc.

We have never put on something like this before but we would love to meet some of our SCS friends so jump on in and let us know what you think and we will see if we can make it work! Let's get us together girls :D ***
