CDS Sneak Peek - Welcome Little One

Today, I have a baby boy card to show you and while doing so I get to introduce you to a new set called Welcome Little One by Clear Dollar Stamps that I illustrated :) This set has some sweet sentiments in it, a teddy bear, baby carriage, baby blocks and a stork image. To see this set fully, please visit the Clearly iStamp blog.

I picked out the teddy image to feature today, and made it a slightly more boyish card by adding the blue but kept a more vintage feel to the card with a lot of subtle sponging and more traditional patterns. The bear was water coloured and then popped up on a sponged and prisma pencil background. I added some cross stitching to the left side of this 4x6" card but accidentally covered some of it up because I made the yellow panel a bit too long...but it was already put together and sewn so I used it anyway...so pretend you didn't notice my boo boo, 'kay? :D

I used some of the tropical mist ribbon from the Clearly Coordinating Collection to fasten my button to and hand the little die cut tag from. I love how this ribbon was able to coordinate so well with my basic grey papers :D

Thanks for swinging by today and don't forget about all of the other fabulous sets that the girls are showing off today! Have fun blog hopping :D

TSG Sneak Peek - Puppy Love

I'm back with yet another fabulous There She Goes set to show you today :D This super cute little pup is from a set called Puppy Love by the amazingly talented illustrator, Torico (if you have never stopped by her blog before, then do yourself a huge favour and check it out now!)

Once again, if you have arrived here from sweet Jodi's blog then you are right where you should be...if not, please start at the beginning over at Danielle's blog :)

For this set, I wanted to do something a little bit different. Awhile ago, I had picked up a bunch of soft covered pre-made journals and I thought that one would be perfect for this adorable little pup. I started by water colouring the puppy, then popping him up and covering his nose and heart with crystal effects. I then went in and water coloured the background with baja re-inker and then when that was dry I followed through with the prismas and gamsol to create the grass.

The designer papers have been embossed with some cuttlebug folders and then sponged with both Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Cocoa inks. I then stitched all of the papers together and added some decorative cross stitching with some linen thread to accompany the thread, button and ribbon treatment on the lower half of the journal :D

How would you like the chance to win this set?
It's easy! All you need to do is comment on all of the participating Trendsetter's blogs and leave a comment on their Puppy Love blog post. You can start at the TSG Blog to get all of the details about this Blog Hop Challenge :)

TSG Sneak Peek - The Journey

Welcome to day one of the There She Goes sneak peek blog hops! If you have arrived here from the uber talented Jodi's blog then you are right where you should be...if not, please start at the beginning over at Chris's blog :D

Today, I get to share with you a set called The Journey that was illustrated by Chris Dark. This is an Asian based set with all kinds of goodies in it. I chose to use the very zen candle, polished stones and orchid image. Everything was water coloured with my tombow markers and a water brush. I then added some sponged edges with some Ranger Distress and SU inks. I also added some pencil cray shading with my prismas and gamsol to give it a little extra "oomph" ;) I chose to stay with a more simple layout so that my image was the main feature and to keep with a spa feeling.

Now that you have visited my, you are off to the amazing Lisa's Blog to finish off the rest of the hop and then hit the finish line over at the There She Goes blog for your chance to win! Don't forget to leave a comment for everyone along the way! Happy hopping and thanks for stopping by today :)

Well, it's official. The Dare to get Dirty challenges for this year have finished up but you still have until August 1st to upload your images for a chance to win prizes :D I didn't get a chance to participate much during the week of the challenges so I thought that I would make it up all with these two cards!

Are you ready for the list? Yes? Ok, then...you asked for it ;) This sweet little cuttlekids monkey qualifies for these challenges:

I circled a pile of challenges off the list and went to town to create these very simple, yet cute cards.

My kids have a birthday party to go to tomorrow (the butterfly card) and then the monkey card is for my nephew's 3rd birthday. His mom and dad call him a little monkey so I thought that it would be kind of fitting :D

Hope that you enjoyed looking at these and I can't tell you enough how handy theses cuttlekids dies are when you have some kid's birthday cards to crank out! lol

DTGDblondie090277 Sketch

Hi ladies! I'm so excited to be bringing you this card today for the official start of the Dare To Get Dirty 2010 Challenges! If you have never heard of this before then let me give you a little run down. The DTGD Challenges are an annual event put on by the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen and Alumni Team as a thank you to all of the Fan Club members. This year it's an entire week of challenges with roughly 5 challenges per day. You will have until August 1st to upload these to enter for some prizes. See this thread for more details.

This particular card was made up for the challenge that I'm hosting (DTGD10blondie090277) and I had some fantastic sample makers to help me out! Be sure to check out my challenge if you are a fan club member. If not...what are you waiting for ;D

I pulled out one of my older sets called Subs, Sails and Tugs to create this whimsical ocean themed card. I have been drawn to bold colours lately and this is no exception! I broke out my new October Afternoon Fly a Kite papers and dragged out my scrap bin for this fun card. The ship has been water coloured and then popped up in a paper "port hole" frame. I studded this with mini brads from Clear Dollar Stamps and added a coordinating shell button.

I had so much fun making this card! I will be back in a few days to show you a sample that I make for another challenge that will be coming up. Until then, be sure to pop by and partake in some of the fun that will be happening all this week over at SCS :D

Starstruck!

I know that I'm not the only one who has ever had an idol of some sort and when they finally get the opportunity to meet them, they just don't know what to say or they stumble all over themselves...right? Please don't tell me that I'm the only one....really? I am? ;)

Not too long ago, I found out that Miss Alli Miles (illustrator for Papertrey Ink) moved into my community...not just that, but moved literally a couple of blocks away :) I was thrilled to find this out and even more thrilled to have met her in person at a Christmas Amuse class that was at our local stamp store. Well, since then we have chatted and she invited both myself and my friend Angela to a direct sales business party that she was hostessing. Let me tell you....I was completely starstruck! I'm not kidding! I seriously babbled all night and didn't even know what to say (other than "thank you") when she gave both Angela and myself one of her very own illustrated stamp sets! Talk about a sweetheart!

So after the party was over I knew that I just had to make her a thank you card using the very set that she gave us but didn't get a chance to right away because we went out of town for the weekend, deadlines hit and then I threw my back out and was out commission for a couple of days. So this is kind of a funny story that she doesn't know because I was actually avoiding her like the plague because I wanted to make her a card and deliver it in person for when I was to pick up the goodies that I ordered at her party. The poor thing was trying to get in touch with me and trying to swing by to drop the stuff off but that just wouldn't do because I still didn't have her card ready! I know, and your right...I am a nut! See, I told you all that I get a little crazy when I'm starstruck!

Well thank goodness, I finally got the card made last night and delivered it today so I can finally stop avoiding the poor girl! lol I am very happy to announce that she loved it and if she reads this post then I'm positive that she will realize that what a dork I really am! lol

Stamps: PTI - Take Three: Summer (by Alli Miles)
Paper: Gina K, Black, Water Colour, Basic Grey Lemonade
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Baja, Razzleberry, Olive
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Accessories, Spellbinder's Lg. Square and Scallop Square Dies, Sponges, Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Tombow Markers, Water Brush, Ribbon, Bow Easy, Corner Rounder, Scallop Circle Punch
